We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"What I really like about this program, is that it is easy to use and easy to configurate.""The most valuable feature of this solution is reliability.""The initial setup was extremely simple and straightforward.""We're able to get higher-density workloads on the same infrastructure, and we have a smaller physical footprint. The performance is excellent – during our test the bottlenecks are never on the X array, it just keeps picking up the pace to match what you need. The real-time visibility is a differentiator in my opinion.""It is very easy to install and configure. It has got excellent diagnostics. If you really need to see how the box is performing, the console gives you a lot of information. You can set thresholds as well as alerts based on the thresholds, which is a very powerful functionality. They are very proactive. They know how to monitor and manage the systems. They see a problem, and they are all over it before us. They see the problem before we see it, which is very good.""The system allows for seamless learning experiences, facilitating quick and easy cloning of environments within minutes.""Pure FlashArray X NVMe helps to improve our processing speed. It is user-friendly and easy to use.""The solution is scalable."

"The most valuable feature is the ability to provide the IOPS ratio which is required by a lot of our customers.""The initial setup is very straightforward. It's not overly complex.""The most important thing that we had found when we purchased this product around six months back was its 100% availability and uptime.""Our customers have given very positive feedback about InfoSign, which is the management software for this solution.""It is stable and reliable.""The interface is simplified.""HPE Primera is stable.""HPE Primera has good integration. All the users are using HP servers and some systems, such as Synergy, which integrate well into the solution."

"We have been working with the solution for around a year and so far it has shown itself to be stable.""This solution is good for virtualization and meets the need for CPU and RAM requirements.""Its initial setup process is easy.""Fewer features is not necessarily a negative as it leads to simpler operation and lower price.""The solution is very easy to set up.""The most valuable features of the Lenovo ThinkSystem DE Series are the dual controllers, available installation documentation, and the option of multiple host bus adapter interfaces.""Lenovo ThinkSystem DE Series is quite an elementary box, no frills. It does not have all the functionality of the DM but it is acceptable, it does its task. It integrates pretty well.""The solution's initial setup process is easy."

Cons
"We have run into a couple of instances recently where we are running out of space. So we have had to buy some more packs for it and they have deployed fine and it has increased smoothly.""Every time I think of something that needs to improve, they're one step ahead, which I love. The only area I wish to see improve, I believe is coming, is in the FlashBlade product. Blade implementation fell short on a few of the services.""In the future, I would like to see integration with enterprise backup systems.""They could add more support for file storage and different types of storage.""Right now, the box itself is just strictly working as a backend storage system. It would be fantastic if we could access it directly like a NAS device through network access or SIS drives. I think they have an interface, but I am not sure how good it is. If we could address a box directly on the network without having to go through a server, it would be great. The replication schemas could be improved. We are not using replication on the storage level right now. We use a different type of replication. If their replication would be as good as the one that we have, I would probably run the replication schema because it might be faster, but I don't know that for a fact. So, I cannot say that they have good replication. All I can say is that they need to inform us better.""Efficiency improvements would always be welcome, but I'm not sure if they could get more efficient.""There is room for improvement in catering to midrange storage needs, especially for customers seeking Enterprise-class features.""If the customer only needs 500 terabytes and doesn't care how much data they'll put in the server, IBM is cheaper than Pure."

More Pure FlashArray X NVMe Cons →

"The solution could improve by having seamless migration from other storage systems. The process should be made easier.""The price of the product is an area of concern. From an improvement perspective, the solution should be made more affordable in terms of price.""The solution has good performance but it could improve further.""Some application solutions can be more acceptable on the HPE Primera site.""HPE Primera is not good enough as a storage solution as it does not provide a good NAS storage.""Like most storage, we want to see flash become more and more stable. Like any flash that uses MLC or TLC techniques, over time, the more writes you have, the less usable the storage becomes. They try to plan for this and have a lot of extra space in the arrays, but over time, their performance does degrade. This is true for any flash storage.""There really isn't any aspect of the solution that needs improvement for the customer other than its price.""Price is always important in Turkey, so HPE could lower the price to keep it competitive. It's not as competitive as other solutions in this market."

More HPE Primera Cons →

"ThinkSystem could be better integrated with backup software like Commvault, Veritas, or Symantec.""It would be useful to have structured solutions replicated to other sites.""In the next release, I would like to see support for Hyper-converged infrastructure.""In the next release, I would like to see more functionality. But, again, it is an entry-level product.""The features are limited.""There could be a snapshot feature in the solution.""Improvements can be made to the product's performance.""The difficult part comes when dealing with the host. You have to enable multi-pathing and other aspects that are needed for proper configuration. I don't know if there is room for a more hyper-conversion structure to work with, but this would be easier."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "With Pure Storage, we would like to continue seeing price reductions with flash storage. I don't think we're any different than anybody else when we continue to look to the industry for price reductions of both NVMe and traditional SSD storage. We would like to see these prices continue to decline and erode, even displacing large spinning disks."
  • "We pay approximately $50,000 USD per year in licensing fees."
  • "With VMware, we pay $300,000 annually."
  • "Our licensing fees are $500,000+ USD."
  • "As far as the licensing costs, everything is included in the license."
  • "They can tout the functionality and cutting edge technology that they have, but that's where the price tag comes in. The cost is high, but I think as they grow their business and get more customers that it will probably go down a little bit."
  • "Its price could be better. It is not too expensive, but it is the high-end cost. It is kind of a Rolls-Royce. You pay a lot, but you get a lot out of it. So, the price pressure on the way down would be great, but at the end of the day, if you need to do the work, you just pay for it."
  • "The licensing is on a yearly basis."

  • "From what I see, this is competitively-priced and HPE are doing their best to stay competitive."
  • "The price to capacity ratio is good."
  • "It is basically in the mid-range of the price. It is not cheaper than Hitachi, but it is cheaper than Pure Storage. There are no additional costs. Everything was taken care of in the price."
  • "Licensing fees are billed on a yearly basis and the cost of GreenLake service is included."
  • "I believe HPE Primera and Pure Storage are similar in price."
  • "There is only a one-time license purchase needed and no additional costs. If HP could reduce the training cost, then that would be advantageous to the seller."
  • "The price of HPE Primera could improve, it is expensive."

  • "The pricing for this solution is good compared to HP or Dell EMC."
  • "The pricing is fair and low compared to other products in this category."
