We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It's highly scalable. It takes upon itself the Redshift scalability, so it's very good.""Matillion ETL has great Git integration that is perfect and convenient to use.""The most valuable feature of Matillion ETL is its user-friendly graphical interface.""It has improved the costs of managing my customer’s data.""It has helped us to get onto the cloud quickly.""It's been able to do everything we require.""The tool's middle-dimensional structure significantly simplifies obtaining the right data at the appropriate level. This feature makes deploying our applications easier since we utilize a single source without publishing data from various sources.""The product's initial setup phase was easy."

"WhereScape is really helpful in terms of architecture data. Everything is one of automation. Two people can do thousands of tables in one day or two. It saves a lot of time.""Data transformations and rollups are easy to accomplish.""I found the initial setup very easy.""This is a fantastically robust DW tool that will make you at least 10 times faster in producing a DW.""Support is absolutely excellent, efficient, and timely.""Their support staff are very knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. I feel their support staff go above and beyond to assure their customers are satisfied.""RED has provided us the ability to integrate, stage, and transform data from diverse sources into an enterprise-grade data warehouse which meets the needs of my organization, but it also enables us to easily and quickly make ETL or DW changes.""Naturally produces a way to easily debug your DW data solutions."

Cons
"When using the SQL loader type there were not a lot of pre-processing features for the data. For example, if there is a table with twenty columns, but we only want to load ten columns. In that case, we can use a security script to select the specific columns needed. However, if we want to perform extensive pre-processing of the data, I faced some challenges with Matillion ETL. I did not encounter many challenges, but my overall experience is limited as I only have three years of experience.""Matillion’s on-premises capabilities don’t allow you to build something customized.""I found some of the more complex aspects of ETL challenging, but I grasped the concepts fairly quickly.""In the next release, we would like to have connections to more databases.""The improvement area could be possible if the tool provides better integration capabilities with other ecosystems, including governance tools or data cataloging tools, as it is currently an area where the solution is lacking.""The tool's lineage is very weak.""Unlike Snowflake which automatically takes care of upgrading to the latest version and includes additional features, with Matillion ETL we need to do this ourselves.""Sometimes, we have issues with the solution's stability and need to restart it for three weeks or more."

More Matillion ETL Cons →

"Improve the object renaming ability (it works, but it could be more automated).""Jobs cannot be deleted via the deployment package. When deploying from dev to QA or production, a job has to be retired. The job has to be manually removed from the target environment.""Customization could be better.""The solution can be a little more user-friendly on enterprise-level where people use it.""The ability to execute SSIS projects within WhereScape would be nice because we have a lot of packages that are too cumbersome to recreate.""Project-based searching of data objects in the data warehouse browser needs to be improved.""They need a more robust support center. It has been a bit difficult to find solutions to problems that are out-of-the-box.""Technical support isn't the best."
