"Whole Disk Encryption is great. BitLocker runs seamlessly during boot up."
"While it helps mitigate unauthorized data access by enhancing file and system protection through encryption, the tool is really enhanced with the combination of other Microsoft Security and Compliance features like data labeling."
"Technical support is excellent."
"Microsoft BitLocker's most valuable feature is endpoint encryption, and it's quite easy to manage."
"I like the simplicity and ease of use of this solution."
"It is easy to use. It is usually easy to recover someone's privacy. The manageability is much easier than McAfee. I think that Microsoft is a leader in this area. We are in the Microsoft school so our judgment of McAfee will be a little bit unfair as we recommend Microsoft all the time because of the easy manageability and support. I think that McAfee is designed for a different customer and every time we open a ticket with their support, it takes a very, very long time. The main difference is just the manageability and support. In terms of the solution itself or the functionality, I know that McAfee is very strong, but manageability and support, for us, is much more important. It's strengthens the solution for us."
"The ease of use is the most valuable feature. The ability to import data to build your frontend on top of the data is very simple and very useable."
"The manageability of it is a valuable feature."
"The most valuable features are the messaging features and shared folders."
"The installation process is pretty straightforward."
"We have been very satisfied with the solution's security capabilities."
"Overall Symantec Endpoint Encryption is a reasonable solution."
"I like the solution for its encryption."
"The solution is great for large-scale deployments."
"The most valuable feature is the ease of use."
"You get updates and other encrypted files easily."
"The solution should offer encryption for other items such as shared folders, removable media, etc."
"User profiles can be improved so that people can create their own passwords. It has one password per machine, which is a problem. We would prefer each user to have his or her own boot password. Each user can have a username and password or biometrics, such as fingerprints and iris scanner, integrated into the boot process, but I really can't see that coming anytime soon, if ever."
"Some of the technical internal functions, such as encryption protocols or something similar, could be improved."
"Lacks a portal that can be managed rather than just existing."
"More customization options would have been nice, such as password selection, actions when the screen is locked, etc."
"Microsoft BitLocker needs to be an all-inclusive solution. For example, a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) cryptoprocessor is required to use Bitlocker with your computer which keeps Bitlocker from adoption beyond Windows."
"The visualization could be better."
"The solution’s user interface could be improved."
"There are other solutions in the market that have new features. The feature could improve."
"I can only patch monthly. I don't know what the solution is there, besides being vulnerable for three weeks out of four. But there's got to be an option somehow."
"Upgrades from one version to another may only sometimes be straightforward, especially if one needs a clearer understanding of the process."
"I do not find the environment to be very user-friendly."
"The solution presently doesn't let network folder encryption be done on Macintosh."
"The security could be improved."
"I think that they should improve the on-premises version to include the manageability and simplicity that is available on the cloud."
"Symantec Endpoint Encryption can improve by being more secure."
