Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The product's most valuable features are its day-to-day operations, Power BI-driven workspaces, and homepage.""The relation between CRM and Sales, that's the main strength of this ERP.""I am impressed with the tool's vendor collaboration. It is also easy to connect with third-party applications.""The accounting and inventory management features are valuable.""The product is easier to use and has more efficient workflow management features than other vendors.""It is easy to use, and it has a great UI. It has very well-structured modules. In terms of setup and configuration, they're logically placed, which makes it easy for any user to pick up information and learn more about the system, rather than just be plain key users of that business operating system.""From a developer's perspective, the architecture of Dynamics has a well-designed security layer, which prevents coding issues between different layers. This is a significant advantage.""It is stable, suitable for businesses, and covers all business needs."

"The Financial Accounting module, in general, is quite good. It is quite simple but powerful. Similarly, the Manufacturing functionality, including a multiple level bill of materials, is also quite useful."

Cons
"The integration could improve for the future.""Microsoft Dynamics AX can improve by having a more modern user interface. It should be more modular and dynamic. Additionally, the solution could be easier to connect with APIs with other technologies.""Microsoft Dynamics AX should include more connectors for third-party integrations. It should also include more features that AI models can govern.""There is no Arabic interface in Microsoft Business Central, which is a big weak point.""The product must be made accessible online.""The product is standardised across industries so it is not a good fit for all types of sectors.""We do not have access to daily projections.""Microsoft Dynamics AX can improve system performance and security. The security is basic and needs a lot of improvement."

"SYSPRO at the moment is lacking on the project side. There's a module called Projects and Contracts, and it's a poorly designed module. One of my clients is a project-based organization, and they're finding it extremely difficult to manage their business using SYSPRO, to the point that they're looking at alternative solutions. The Projects and Contracts module is not a very useful tool. It does project accounting reasonably well, but in terms of putting in proper structures, like a work breakdown structure and so forth, it's actually quite poor. Their design or their architecture for the Projects module isn't good enough. They need to redesign it and redevelop it. They have made improvements. However, the problem is that if you're building on a bad foundation, then your building isn't going to be very strong. That's principally their problem. Any heavy equipment company would have a requirement to keep their equipment available for production. In that sense, SYSPRO has no maintenance management functionality. There's also no functionality for field services management. These two functionalities are critical for places like mines or for heavy equipment manufacturers who service the aftermarket and so forth. From a product perspective, this obviously isn't a good place to be because they are sort of taking themselves out of the market for quite a number of industries. They are constrained to manufacturing and distribution."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Go for cloud implementation, if cost is critical."
  • "One client was looking at a $5M SAP proposal and we got AX in just under $2M, and they were very happy with it as they have several sister companies that face $500K SAP upgrades/maintenance seemingly annually."
  • "The pricing is expensive."
  • "It's too expensive for customers to take this on themselves. As partners, we will buy this on behalf of the customers and then charge this value for each project."
  • "It is $180 to $200 per user per month with a minimum of 20 users, which makes selling the product a bit difficult."
  • "I don't know how much this solution costs off the top of my head, but I know that the cloud and SaaS solutions are cheaper."
  • "It has a pay-as-you-go subscription."
  • "The initial investment cost goes up due to the hidden cost."

Shahzad I., ERP Project Manager & Managing Consultant at Liwa Education, Iranfava, explains, “It's good for retail businesses. It expands a lot and constantly brings on new features. It's got a lot of competitive features.”

SYSPRO enterprise resource planning (ERP) software supports the control, integration and synchronization of all aspects of the manufacturing process and accommodates both short and long production runs in several manufacturing environments. This single source solutionis compatible with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS software), and it features several quality control measures. Most notable is the lot traceability function, which tracks raw materials through their entire life cycle, beginning with their receipt, manufacture and assembly, and moving on to their inspection, stocking and distribution. It also keeps track of expiration dates and certifications of quality. Another valuable feature of this mining industry software is the inventory management component, which accurately forecasts inventories by analyzing sales history and other factors. Several companies have implemented this software to improve their business operations, including U.S. Salt. They found SYSPRO's focus on the client/server environment and the solution's scalabilty as two reasons to implement this software. The software's combination of manufacturing, distribution and financial functions was enough to convince U.S. Salt that this was the right software for their company. The result for U.S. Salt was highly efficient operations that maintain inventory levels for on-demand shipments within three to five days. U.S. Salt also cited the usability of the software as a benefit. Their employees could easily use it and even personalize it for their work stations.
