Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable feature for us is the ability to set up connectors to various IT systems and offer a wide range of supported connectors.""Omada's best feature is creating accounts, automatically assigning permissions, and distributing resources based on assignment policies.""The most valuable feature in Omada is the governance. We work with other products and other product vendors, but the sweet spot in the market for Omada is where things are heavy on governance.""The Governance and self-service that can be set up so you can use them yourself to work in the system are the most valuable features. End users can be enabled to help themselves.""It has a very user-friendly interface compared to what we are used to, and it is highly configurable. In the old solution, when we needed to do something, we had to have a programmer sitting next to us, whereas, in Omada Identity, everything is configurable.""We are able to onboard new user accounts much faster by automating the process and standardizing our operations globally. Previously, there were many individual processes and manual admin interactions. We also see a lot of cost savings and benefits because through automation and standardization.""The support response time and the freedom from strange bugs and strange things happening in the software are valuable.""User-friendly solution."

"The connection with multiple systems is what makes it flexible. We can create the accounts flexibly, enabling access to other systems. In addition to Active Directory, it can extend to SAP, to Salesforce, to Office 365, etc.""Quest One IDM allows for large customization.""This solution is better on the IT personnel, because now they spend less (or almost no time) managing user rights.""The most valuable feature of One Identity Manager for me is its Designer tool.""One Identity Manager is flexible and offers numerous connectors that enable us to serve as the core component of the system, as well as to construct our own connectors using the API.""In terms of what the most valuable feature of One Identity Manager is, that would be hard to say because the tool is great overall. There's not really one feature you'd prefer over other features, but what's really great, in my opinion, is the fact that the provisioning is really stable and accurate, and it's a process my company trusts. This means that without a lot of maintenance, I can be pretty sure that as soon as my alternative source gives a new identity or gives new information about a particular identity, everything will be transformed and executed the right way. My company has tried other solutions and there's always a struggle with the provisioning system in terms of knowing what systems work, but with One Identity Manager, this issue doesn't happen. It's also a stable system which I like.""The solution does lots of things that we did manually before.""It gives the best user experience, enabling us an overview of all user entitlements."

"Varonis Platform is transparent and captures everything in the environment without impacting the performance. The tool helps us unify data feeds into a single reporting system.""The solution has significantly improved data security and compliance posture by allowing us to track and monitor activities. We can see who accesses data and when files are created and understand what's happening in our environment."

Cons
"There is room for improvement in Omada's integration capabilities, particularly in streamlining complex integrations and enhancing programming logic for better rule management.""I would like more training. As someone who is new to this world, I don't feel that the courses Omada provides are good enough. They should also improve the documentation. It is difficult to learn how to use the solution by yourself""Omada Identity has two main issues that need to be solved or improved the most. One is its setup or installation process because it's complex and cumbersome. I'm talking about the process for on-premises deployment because I've never tried the cloud version of Omada Identity. Setting up the cloud version should be much easier. The second area for improvement in Omada Identity is that it's piggybacking on Microsoft's complex way of having all kinds of add-ons, extensions, or setups, whether small or large, such as the new SQL Server, and it's cumbersome to make sure that everything works. Omada Identity is a complex solution and could still be improved.""Its flexibility is both a good thing and a bad thing. Because it is very flexible, it also becomes too complex. This is common for most of the products we evaluated. Its scalability should be better. It had a few scalability issues.""One thing that we are not so happy about is the user interface. It is a bit dated. I know that they are working on that, but the user interface is quite dated. Currently, it is a little bit difficult to customize the user interface to the need of the business, which is a little bit disappointing. It needs it to be a little bit easier to operate, and it should have a better user interface.""The user interface could be improved. The interface between Omada and the user is mainly text-based.""We are still on Omada on-prem, but I understand that when Omada is in the cloud, you cannot send an attachment via email. We have some emails with attachments for new employees because we have to explain to them how to register and do their multi-factor authentication. All that information is in the attachment. People have to do that before they are in our system. We cannot give them a link to our Intranet and SharePoint because they do not yet have access. They have to register before that, so I need to send the attachments, but this functionality is not there in the cloud.""I would like to search on date fields, which is not possible now."

"The philosophy behind One Identity Manager has always been that there's not one way of working and that you can set it up according to your own identity and access management philosophy, but what would make it better is by shortening the setup time and the learning curve time. If the team could create some best practices with a wizard to set the solution up within companies, that would be a killer feature and would help make identity access management more approachable. That would also help companies that don't have the resources or a dedicated team to set up One Identity Manager. What I'd like to see in the next release of the solution is the addition of just released application governance parts. That would sound promising. It would also be interesting if the team sets up best practice startup wizards, so you could set up One Identity Manager according to selectable best practice wizards instead of setting it up completely by yourself.""With technical support, it is always an issue to get the right person. They do have good technical people in support, but it is sometimes not so easy to get them.""I would like One Identity Manager to offer an easier way for users to learn to use their new features.""Visually, I would like it to be more user-friendly.""The product's GUI could be more user-friendly.""There are too many different user interfaces. For example, one is the designer and another is the manager. There's also a web interface and an object browser. It would be helpful to consolidate all of those into a single administrator portal.""Quest Software should provide notes and documents to customers before they buy the product and license.""There is a small area inside of the administrator's GUI that could be a little bit more organized."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The pricing is too high for SMBs."
  • "Omada continues to be very competitive on pricing, especially on the Omada cloud product."
  • "The initial total cost of ownership to implement Omada Identity is not small. The TCO for the implementation is as high as any other solution. However, the cost of maintaining the solution is at par or lower than competitors, including adding more features or maintaining the system after the initial deployment or installation to make sure that they are available for users to use or extending the functionalities of those activities. Those maintenance costs are lower than other vendors, but the initial cost of getting the system installed is still high."
  • "It is licensed per managed user per year."
  • "There were a lot of administrator, partner, and supplier accounts for people who were no longer working for us but still in the system. So, we reduced the number of users no longer with the company, which saved us some money on licensing."
  • "It's a fair price for the on-premises system. Compared with what we had before, it's much cheaper and we get all the modules in one. We tried to go with the cloud, but it was far too expensive."
  • "From an on-prem point of view, the cost is quite transparent and reasonable. The direct cost is primarily for licenses and maintenance on licenses."
  • "My client deals directly with the Omada Identity team in terms of licensing. I never look at pricing, so I'm not aware of how much the solution costs, but it's worth the money. Often, when you begin to use Omada Identity and it takes a while to set up, it'll be irreversible, and you'd depend on and focus more on the functionality of the solution, rather than its price tag."

  • "Start with an operations team that is motivated to learn a lot in a short period of time. The longer you wait, the more expensive it will be to get the right level of expertise in this area."
  • "There are old processes that are really great for some people and look like pieces of artwork. However, the maintenance of them is really expensive."
  • "The solution is flexible, in general. You can define the parts of the solution that you want to use, and it won't affect the price."
  • "We have the premium support and are very satisfied. They are always answer our questions very quickly. For the moment, we are very satisfied, but I think it's because we are paying for the premium support."
  • "It helps us save on licenses for applications because we are following the account lifecycle, as well as account reactivation."
  • "We are paying for premium support, which is expensive. However, we do receive very good, fast support."
  • "It needs flexibility in the licensing or packaging, because you buy the entire package at once, and sometimes the customers are a bit overwhelmed with whatever they get. I would like if they could cut the licensing or packaging into somewhat smaller things."
  • "It has helped to reduce customer costs."
