We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable feature of the solution is that it is a cloud-based solution.""The initial setup was straightforward.""I haven't experienced any instability or downtime in Oracle Cloud over the past three years. It is scalable The support team was good. The initial setup is straightforward to configure. I rate the solution a nine out of ten with ten being the highest.""It's a cloud, so it is easy to access anywhere.""Just having the many options and features offered by the product through the cloud is a major benefit.""Oracle Cloud has wonderful features and offerings as a service. It's not just a pure-play cloud product or SaaS application. It has a complete suite from infrastructure to platform as a service to software as a service, and this is what I find most valuable in Oracle Cloud. For infrastructure on the cloud or infrastructure as a service on the cloud, there's OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure). Oracle Cloud is easily available. You just click it. I also found the feature of creating a landing zone valuable. Oracle Cloud is also very flexible as it lets you have a hybrid cloud model along with other cloud solutions. I also like that it offers good management on the cloud. Oracle Cloud is ready to use as a service, and that's wonderful because the time to market is very quick. I also like that Oracle Cloud offers high performance and high availability. A lot of people claim that there's high availability in their companies' cloud operations, but technically speaking, pure high availability in today's context is found in Oracle Cloud.""You can customize everything according to your preferences. I've reached out to customer support many times. I highly recommend using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. With the product, you have complete control over the management of your system.""Oracle Cloud Infrastructure is about as stable as the other CSPs, but Oracle Cloud is more common in Korea."

"The most valuable feature of Pivotal Cloud Foundry is auto-healing and the plenty of other features that are provided.""I find the ease of deployment and management of microservices to be the most valuable features. The platform also has good auto-scaling capabilities.""The most valuable features are the monitoring and the deployment is easier.""Pivotal Cloud Foundry is very easy to use compared to other cloud technologies. It has a very good performance.""The most valuable feature of the solution is its ability to scale. The services that connect to the database are also very good.""It provides a set of developer-friendly tools that simplify application deployment.""PCF is open, so the applications run really smoothly and with little downtime.""It is a scalable product...We are not facing any particular issues since most of the applications in our company are written in Java and .NET."

Cons
"Specific to the Oracle Cloud; while they have been able to showcase inbuilt features for Oracle applications, what doesn't really come across clearly is what happens when you want to host, work with, or integrate with applications outside of the Oracle stack.""Portability of the VMware environment into the Oracle Cloud should be made more simple.""Oracle Cloud Platform can improve the integration with hybrid and cross-cloud deployments. It should be a flexible solution with a very well-defined integration with other applications in the hybrid environment. There are certain integrations that are not straightforward.""The solution is expensive""More technical papers could be published to help out professionals.""The biggest challenge I'm having with the cloud offering is the sizing. So, pricing becomes difficult. The sizing challenge is in terms of being very clear on how your data growth or your requirements would be. It becomes a bit difficult to be able to ensure that there's enough future proofing in what you've signed. At the same time, the whole idea behind the cloud is to be able to pay for what you use. You don't want to pay for something that you're not using.""One improvement that would be helpful is the addition of a replication option on their Standard Edition OD service. Currently, this option is not available, which leads many customers to move to the Enterprise edition. However, other cloud service providers, such as Amazon AWS offer replication options at a similar tier. It would be beneficial if Oracle also explored providing this option for their Standard Edition service.""The main issue for the clients is that they need to understand the credit payments because if it's a currency that's not dollars or euros, Oracle will always convert it into credits and that's not easy for the customer to understand at the beginning."

More Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Cons →

"Regarding the setup phase, every step is a hurdle. With Pivotal Cloud Foundry, I won't get any proper resources for that. Even if I Google it, there is no proper solution for Pivotal Cloud Foundry.""Pivotal Cloud Foundry is not scalable, infinitely, because when you install it on a set of virtual machines it is very hard to scale. It's easy to scale on an application level, but not it is not similar to if you were using Amazon. Amazon you can scale thousands of applications.""I'd like to see a larger service offering.""It should offer more security features.""There is a lot of uncertainty surrounding the future of Pivotal Cloud Foundry.""The user interface should be simpler to navigate because it t can take time for users to learn it.""Pivotal Cloud Foundry could improve the documentation. They are good, but they could improve more. Additionally, it would be beneficial if there were more use case examples.""Pivotal Cloud Foundry doesn't have certain advanced features."

  • "The cost may be a bit high for many potential users."

  • "The price of Pivotal Cloud Foundry is based on the customer's requirements. However, the price is comparable to other similar solutions."

  • "The pricing is on the higher side and there are cheaper options available."
  • "We do pay for the licensing cost because we have opted for a private cloud setup. So, it is a cloud setup, and we have to make payments based on the cloud size. I do not consider it very costly when comparing it to the market."
