We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"What I like most about SolarWinds Database Performance Analyzer is that it's a powerful solution that lets me advise customers about performance, and it also gives a lot of supporting information.""The initial setup is pretty straightforward.""In IT, problems often occur in areas such as applications, web interfaces, or databases. The tool allows users to easily determine the root cause of these issues, whether they stem from the network layer, database layer, or elsewhere.""SolarWinds Database Performance Analyzer's most valuable features include the notification of consuming the SQL queries, collecting data, and notifying about managing space and tables.""The most valuable feature of this solution is the support for older databases and the ability to manage them in a centralized dashboard.""SolarWinds Database Performance Analyzer can help us identify issues we cannot see manually.""Monitoring is most valuable, and being able to know that there is an issue or problem and I need to go look is also valuable. So, monitoring and learning are the most important features.""SolarWinds Database Performance Analyzer helped us locate the performance issues quickly."

"The most valuable feature is the navigation within the UI, where you can right-click on an object in an SQL query and go right to it, versus going through all of the menus to find what you are looking for.""Toad has a lot of features that are very useful, fast, and well developed.""It is very easy to manage all of the objects.""I like that it's very flexible and helpful in query accuracy, analysis, and data visualization. I also like the move facilities available in Toad for Oracle. Overall, I think it's a fantastic product for analyzing SQL queries and managing all kinds of queries.""The tool evaluates non-optimized queries and generates the queries in a way that is more optimal - in addition to giving us some good practices for code development.""I find Toad easy to use and I love the Workspace feature, which allows me to set up projects so that I can open SQL files applicable to what I am working on at any particular time.""Toad for Oracle has proven to be better than other tools since we have never experienced any crashes.""I haven't seen any issues with scalability. We have about 1000 people on our IT team who use the solution."

Cons
"One area where the tool could improve is by adding support for additional databases. For instance, supporting newer databases like Couchbase or MongoDB would be beneficial.""The areas where it currently lags are in reporting and dashboarding. The reports and dashboards are somewhat static, and we cannot create custom dashboards for specific customer needs.""There is room for improvement with the pricing of the platform.""SolarWinds Database Performance Analyzer should include more details on how everything works.""SolarWinds Database Performance Analyzer should provide customization options allowing users to add different columns.""Technical support for this solution needs to be improved.""It is capable, but I don't believe it has the right value matrix. It also depends on the budget of the company.""The solution should add little details on the server so that an independent team could easily do the implementation."

More SolarWinds Database Performance Analyzer Cons →

"Improvement wise, for the user it should show the minimum features on the screen and not all the features. Toad has a lot of features, but most users will use only 5 or 10 based on their role. Nobody needs all the features, and they should provide the option to choose only the required features. Only minimum requirements should be enabled by default. When all the features are shown, the performance is not good; it loads slowly and has hundreds of popups and unnecessary questions.""I'd like reporting to be more available. If it was a feature that was already installed, more people would take advantage of it.""There could be a tool for automated SQL query functioning.""Toad for Oracle could improve code completion, it is very slow.""Toad for Oracle does not have a particular resolution within the application.""I would like to see an improvement in the performance because opening the browser and the editor should be faster.""There may be an issue with processing limitations but this cannot be confirmed as a problem with the product or with the newest releases.""There should also be a better "cancel query" option as sometimes one cancels a query, but then it still might run for a long time, and then one has to crash Toad in order to cancel the query."
