"Spotfire is excellent for scientific applications, especially because of its integration with RNG.""I appreciate Spotfire's range of visualization options, advanced analytics features, and seamless integration with other TIBCO products.""The out-of-the-box features are simple and easy to use across the board.""The two features that I have found most valuable are its ability to customize the dashboards when it comes to the evaluation. The second feature is its ability to handle a large amount of data, which is also something very unique about it.""We particularly like the data angling feature of this solution. This gives us the ability to work on data transformations, join files, and carry out other data preparation tasks all in a single tool.""The solution is an affordable one.""The most valuable features of TIBCO Spotfire are visualization. It's very nice, clear, and, flexible. You can analyze many data types and the user interface is very good.""We used it pretty heavily in gathering data, which goes to our VPs. Cons
"A better focus should be put on self-service reporting.""Currently, JSON format is the main format we use, however, in TIBCO Jaspersoft, XML format is the default and JSON did not work because TIBCO did not fix it.""I would like to see better support for big data.""TIBCO Jaspersoft would benefit from enabling you to run multiple reports in one file and incorporating more options related to multiple reports.""We'd like to see the community version offer a little bit more support and better documentation and we'd like the enterprise edition to have better pricing.""There might be some compatibility issues with the dashboard if we're using the latest version and some clients are using the older version. Some features might not be supported.""The upgrades are not easy.""The Ad Hoc Report Writer does not include as many features as Tableau and needs to be improved to meet expectations."

"The handling and consumption of realtime data could be improved.""The initial setup is complicated and needs experience and knowledge.""I would like more easy-to-implement analytical algorithms. At the moment they include things like forecasts and regressions. They need to add a lot more of these types of things to the product because not everyone is a data scientist.""The data compression has room for improvement.""Compared to competitors, the UI is quite dated.""One aspect where Spotfire could improve is its global recognition, especially in terms of support.""When it comes to data manipulation, there are features which are good, but one of the features which has really been missing in Spotfire is an offline ability for data manipulation.""I would like to see the visualization library in this solution expanded, so that I can increase what I can offer to our clients."

Any company (be it technology, manfucaturing, human resource, ecommerce, SME etc) always has the need for Business Intelligence to some or the other extent. If cost is one of the consideration factor, then the 2 BI tools which are at the forefront are Pentaho and Jaspersoft. Reports :- Jaspersoft is known for its picture pixel perfect reporting. Jasper uses ireport for designing the reports. Hence, for having reports, Jaspersoft is the most ideal candidate. Pentaho uses Pentaho Report Designer. b. Dashboards :- Pentaho provides much more capabililties, interactivity in terms of dashboards. Dashboards designed in Pentaho are far more superior in functionality, aesthetically as compared to Jaspersoft. Pentaho CE uses CDE/CDF, Pentaho EE uses PDD . Dashboard functionality is present only in the Enterprise edition of Jaspersoft. c. Pentaho is having an intermediate layer known as Xactions & hence providing much more flexibility in terms of plugin designing, integration with applications, having out of box experience etc. Xactions supports scripting and scheduling of scripts execution. Jaspersoft dosent provide that much of flexibility in terms of… Read more →
