We performed a comparison between Trend Micro Cloud One and Wiz based on our users’ reviews in five categories. After reading all of the collected data, you can find our conclusion below.
Features: Trend Micro Cloud One and Wiz both offer valuable features for protecting against vulnerabilities and managing workloads. Trend Micro Cloud One excels in offering control over restrictions and total visibility, including insight into a microservice architecture. Meanwhile, Wiz prioritizes risks and offers easy-to-read dashboards with context, as well as automation roles. Trend Micro Cloud One needs work in areas such as pricing, automation, and licensing, as well as offering better documentation, logs, alerts, and flexibility. On the other hand, Wiz could benefit from preventive controls, refined reporting, customizable dashboards, improved risk assessment, and direct issue remediation.
Service and Support: Both Trend Micro Cloud One and Wiz have excellent technical support with knowledgeable and responsive staff. Wiz also offers easy access to account representatives and hand-holding during deployment. However, some customers suggest that Wiz could improve by making more information publicly accessible.
Ease of Deployment: Trend Micro Cloud One's setup was not universally easy, with some needing technical knowledge and others finding it simpler. The length of deployment varied, and a two-person team was suggested. Wiz was reported to be uncomplicated and quick to install, with some finishing in only a few hours. Wiz was mostly a SaaS tool that was low-maintenance and gave insight and analytics for cloud resources.
Pricing: Trend Micro Cloud One has mid-range pricing, whereas Wiz is on the pricier side. Trend Micro Cloud One's pricing is determined by the number of units, while Wiz has a straightforward pricing model that is deemed reasonable. However, there are worries about possible price hikes and a lack of pricing transparency with Wiz.
ROI: Trend Micro Cloud One is praised for its flexibility and easy integration, while Wiz is known for its superior asset management and vulnerability identification. Additionally, Wiz's SaaS platform offers added value for users, helping with compliance and monitoring controls.
Comparison Results: Trend Micro Cloud One is the preferred choice over Wiz based on user reviews. It has more comprehensive features, including virtual patching, login inspection, and control over server access and application installation. Wiz is praised for its ability to provide context and prioritize risks, but lacks preventive controls and refined reporting capabilities.
"The perfect package for all security platforms, providing more than any other endpoint solution."
"The most valuable features are intrusion prevention and anti-malware capabilities."
"The stability is quite good."
"I really like Trend Vision One - Cloud Security's dashboard."
"The storage and computing features are valuable."
"I like the conformity and workload security modules. Workload security is all about intrusion detection and prevention. Trend Vision One - Cloud Security has behavioral rules that are auto-populated based on organizational structure. That's one aspect that we liked most."
"The product helps us understand our environment better."
"Detection response and cloud conformity are valuable features."
"The security baseline and vulnerability assessments is the valuable feature."
"With Wiz, we get timely alerts for leaked data or any vulnerabilities already existing in our environment."
"The CSPM module has been the most effective. It was easy to deploy and covered all our accounts through APIs, requiring no agents. Wiz provides instant visibility into high-level risks that we need to address."
"The vulnerability management modules and the discovery and inventory are the most valuable features. Before using Wiz, it was a very manual process for both. After implementing it, we're able to get all of the analytics into a single platform that gives us visibility across all the systems in our cloud. We're able to correspond and understand what the vulnerability landscape looks like a lot faster."
"The product supports out-of-the-box reporting with context about the asset and allows us to perform complex custom queries on UI."
"The first thing that stood out was the ease of installation and the quick value we got out of the solution."
"Out of all the features, the one item that has been most valuable is the fact that Wiz puts into context all the pieces that create an issue, and applies a particular risk evaluation that helps us prioritize when we need to address a misconfiguration, vulnerability, or any issue that would put our environment into risk."
"The solution is very user-friendly."
"The dashboard should be a bit more intuitive."
"The workbook insights generate a massive list, making it inconvenient to review."
"The pricing can get high."
"Securing S3 using Trend Vision One - Cloud Security can cost too much. Trend Vision One - Cloud Security has a tool that requires lots of privileges. From my understanding, it's only for static application testing, so they need to add dynamic application testing, and there should be more collaboration with the application testing tools on the market. We have not used this product, and I don't know if they plan to decommission it or something. They should focus on application security because this tool's unique feature is multi-cloud support. However, they should improve integration with tools for these kinds of use cases, especially application security and dynamic scanning. For example, I would like it to support Dell SecureOps. I'd also like to see some enhancements to API gateway security."
"One area for improvement in Trend Vision One - Cloud Security is marketing; in particular, Trend Vision should update the marketing documentation. The information needs to be more comprehensive."
"Trend Vision One - Cloud Security seems to have a preference for AWS Cloud over Azure and would be improved by focusing equally on both."
"The licensing model could be improved. To gain full coverage, you need to spend more to buy subscriptions for each kind of service they offer. It will start to be pricey if you want full coverage."
"There are also some loopholes because it's a new product that they have recently migrated to the cloud. We do see some issues with the policies we have assigned when it comes to a particular account. There are some issues with system support, such as a particular server kernel version that is not supported."
"The solution's container security could be improved."
"We're looking at some of the data compliance stuff that they've got Jon offer. I know they're looking at container security, which we gonna be looking at next."
"Wiz's reporting capabilities could be refined a bit. They are making headway on that, but more executive-style dashboards would be nice. They just implemented a community aspect where you can share documents and feedback. This was something users had been requesting for a while. They are listening to customer feedback and making changes."
"The remediation workflow within the Wiz could be improved."
"The only small pain point has been around some of the logging integrations. Some of the complexities of the script integrations aren't supported with some of the more automated infrastructure components. So, it's not as universal. For example, they have great support for cloud formation and other services, but if you're using another type of management utility or governance language for your infrastructure-as-code automation components, it becomes a little bit trickier to navigate that."
"One significant issue is that the searches are case-sensitive, so finding a misconfigured resource can become very challenging."
"The reporting isn't that great. They have executive summaries, but it's only a compliance report that maps all current issues to specific controls. Whether you look at one subscription or project, regardless of the size, you will get a multipage report on how the issues in that account map to that control. Our CSO isn't going to read through that. He won't filter that out or show that to his leadership and say, "Here's what we're doing." It isn't a helpful report. They're working on it, but it's a poor executive summary."
"Given the level of visibility into all the cloud environments Wiz provides, it would be nice if they could integrate some kind of mechanism to better manage tenants on multiple platforms. For example, let's say that some servers don't have an application they need, such as an antivirus. Wiz could include an API or something to push those applications out to the servers. It would be great if you could remedy these issues directly from the Wiz platform."
