"The installation was straightforward."
"Hyper-V integrates well with other Microsoft solutions."
"It has provided a good cost-saving from the management perspective."
"The implementation process is simple."
"Visibility: We can easily pull reports and give access to other people to look at specs or performance metrics."
"I like the capability of vMotion, DRS, high availability, and resource distribution."
"The speed of the solution is excellent."
"It is a very stable solution. It performs well for our requirements. It has been running for a long time, so we are very knowledgeable about this solution. It is a very well-supported solution, and it is very flexible. The expansion of its functionality is dynamic."
"This solution's most valuable feature is its High Availability."
"The visibility that we have of our VMs is also important. What's being applied? Who has management of them? Laying it out in a virtual environment allows us customization for our students. We're able to respond to the students' needs much more quickly than we could in a physical environment."
"Valuable features really depend on different projects. We are using the traditional infrastructure based on VMware vSphere. We are also using the high availability (HA) and Distributed Switch features to extend our network and switch between different hosts. The VMotion and SVMotion features are very essential for us to relocate the storage of virtual machines to different storage or vSANs. We are using VMotion and SVMotion features several times of the day. We are also using another VMware product to replicate a lot of solutions to a second replication site."
"The documentation is very good."
"Microsoft increased the price for this solution when adding the Storage Spaces Direct feature."
"It should be deployed with OS so there is no need to install OS separately, only select the OS and get it ready."
"In general, based on my little experience with Hyper-V, I see a lot of obstacles. I think it falls behind the other competitors."
"Some of the interfaces need improvements, like the virtual switch or virtual VLAN interfaces."
"The cost and licensing can be improved."
"The backup site could be better. We used to face a lot of issues, and we are looking to solve that now. We are in the process of moving all the infrastructure to the cloud. It could also use more integration on the management part. We also need more integration on the monitoring sites."
"We would like to have a cloning function added to this product."
"Hyper-V requires improvement with manageability."
"VMware vSphere could be improved with cheaper costs."
"The quality of support could be better."
"It would be nice if it had auto-scaling, no need to select CPU or select database size. Let it auto-scale, let it use the features that VMware has, instead of having to preselect."
"To manage it properly, you have to know this product really well."
"I'd like to get rid of the Flash Client. There are still some things we need to go in there and use it for, some plugins and other things aren't supported in the HTML5."
"I know VMWare has this Operations Manager. I know that it comes at a price because VMWare normally wants to charge for everything in the software. But I'm not seeing all the features of the Operations Manager. I only see a few features. If all the features can be included in one package, that would be good."
"I can't speak to any missing features. It has everything I need."
"The initial setup is quite complex."
