Firebase handles the database and some application logic through Firebase Functions. Security is also managed through Firebase. However, for the really large dataset, I use Supabase, which is essentially the Postgres version in the cloud. It's great for organizing frequently accessed data like customer information or the latest updates, which wouldn't be ideal for the main Firebase datastore.
