We performed a comparison between Check Point Harmony Endpoint and Sophos EPP Suite based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Endpoint Protection Platform (EPP) solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers."
"The product detects and blocks threats and is more proactive than firewalls."
"I like FortiClient EMS. FortiEDR has a lot of great features like lockdown mode, remote wipes, and encryption. I can set malware outbreak policies and controls for detecting abnormalities. You can also simulate phishing attacks."
"The console is easy to read. I also like the scanning part and the ability to move assets from one to the other."
"NGAV and EDR features are outstanding."
"We have FortiEDR installed on all our systems. This protects them from any threats."
"I get alerts when scripts are detected in the environment."
"Fortinet FortiEDR's scalability is quite good, and you can add licenses to the solution."
"The most valuable feature is Harmony Endpoint's encapsulation system which captures the whole system and protects it against other functions. It is really good for the Check Point Harmony specialists."
"Forensic Analysis provides a complete analysis of threats via detailed reports."
"The standout features are primarily EDR and MDR."
"It provides remote access for the staff and increases their productivity."
"We are able to manage all our endpoints from a single cloud console."
"Data security analytics enable us to prepare and take suitable precautions before landing in trouble and exposing confidential information."
"They have a great knowledge base that you can leverage as a user."
"Check Point Endpoint Security helps us ensure device control and security. It helps us make sure users can access only the network resources they should be accessing and keep malware to a minimum."
"With Sophos, the scanning of viruses and scanning of the disk is done silently in the background."
"The most valuable features of Sophos EPP Suite are the detection capability, machine learning, ransomware protection, and live response."
"Sophos EPP Suite has the capability to stop infections from spreading around the internal network even after the problems have infiltrated it."
"The solution efficiently protects the servers for our customers."
"The most valuable feature of Sophos EPP Suite is the accounting and reporting services are good and professional. The business features of the solution are very useful, such as the reporting page for clients. It provides a clear understanding of usage, including how much traffic has been used and how much is remaining. Additionally, it's user-friendly and easy to understand. Overall, the solution is good, useful, and has a helpful user interface."
"What I like best about Sophos EPP Suite is that it's a good product. What's nice about it is that after I installed it on my computer, the tool detects and eliminates most of the problems, malware, and vulnerabilities. It works very well and is very efficient because it doesn't use up many resources from my computer. For me, Sophos EPP Suite is the best security and antivirus solution. In terms of its endpoint capabilities, I'm unable to comment on other Sophos security devices, but it seems Sophos EPP Suite has a next-generation firewall feature, though I didn't use it, and it may not be comparable to other next-generation firewalls. My current firewall is a next-generation firewall from Fortinet, and it's the best firewall for me in terms of cost and security, but for endpoint protection, I use Sophos EPP Suite, and it has the best security for my device. The tool is also good for organizations. It's the best tool."
"The product is stable."
"The web control and the application control are two good features."
"FortiEDR could add a separate scanning dashboard. In incident management, we prefer to remove the endpoint system from the environment and scan the system. We typically use Symantec for that, but if we want to use FortiEDR for that, then we need a scanning tab to clarify things."
"I would like the solution to extend beyond endpoint protection and include other attack surfaces such as other network components."
"The SIEM could be improved."
"They can include the automation for the realtime updates. We have a network infrastructure with remote sites. Whenever they send updates, they are not automated. We have to go into the console and push those updates. I wish it was more automated. The update file is currently around 31 MB. It could be smaller."
"I think cloud security and SASE are areas of concern in the product where improvements are required. The tool's cloud version has to be improved in terms of the security it offers."
"We find the solution to be a bit expensive."
"It takes about two business days for initial support, which is too slow in urgent situations."
"The dashboard isn't easy to access and manage."
"Check Point Harmony Endpoint could improve mobile device management (MDM)."
"I'd also love to see them add full MDM support, but I appreciate that that's not the product market. If it did come in, I'd be more than happy to look at additional modules. It was probably one of the easiest products I've ever had to deploy it, but if it's not capable of doing MD, then that's going to impact its usefulness to us."
"The solution can be made lightweight in order to keep the systems more effective during the background operations of the scanning and security checks."
"Specifically, there are gaps when it comes to security."
"Its customer support services and user interface could be improved."
"We need a higher maximum file size in the sandboxing feature."
"For the future, I would like to see maybe a content-filtering emulation feature in Harmony Endpoint."
"Improvements are required in two key areas: notifications and setup simplification."
"The solution could improve on the resource management, it is a bit heavy on the resources."
"I would like to have more logging features to help more deeply analyze traffic."
"The product's resource utilization is a concern, especially regarding memory usage on systems with older specifications such as lower memory and less powerful processors."
"The only drawback is that it requires a little more system configuration."
"Sophos EPP Suite's support services need improvement."
"Sometimes there are issues with the antivirus back logs."
"Technical support needs to be improved."
"The solution has a strange technical support process where you need to move through all of these tiers before you can get to someone who can help you. They should streamline the process and make it easier to speak to the correct level of support from the outset."
