Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The biggest feature is the source of truth for all of our budget and forecast versions.""The important feature is integration with source data. It connects to various ERP systems, including Workday, Intact, and others. It can also import actuals and compare them to PlanPoint quite easily.""The integration with our payroll system to complete staff modeling during our budget and forecast processes.""It helps develop a more unified work format throughout the company.""The most valuable feature of the solution is its dashboard.""It's very stable.""Changes to corporate structure, account codes are updated in all versions including prior years, hence "one-version of truth" as claimed.""Automated reporting."

"The most valuable features are the reporting and the charts. The reporting functionality is handy for aggregation, when it comes to planning. That ability is fascinating and our users are very happy with it. The charts and the reporting allow our users to see all the data and to see how things are going this year or in the COVID situation. They're seeing everything. Instead of having to check data line by line, they're seeing it in a graph and they're seeing it in charts.""The ability to create a data model and have it in testing within a week is fantastic.""Where it used to take me three days at the beginning of the year to create the new financial statement, now it is a matter of minutes because all the data is in the system.""It is useful for self-analysis regarding company data and helps to find areas where we can improve.""I liked the way that I felt as a user and administrator of it. There were a lot of clicks, drops, drags, etc. versus writing code.""The reporting part has been very valuable as the capabilities of the tool do not have to change graphs, change how grids are displayed, and can create reports on the fly.""It allows people to quickly create dashboards with reports.""It is very easy to use. It has got what they call a toolkit, which is a no-code development environment. You can develop a whole solution with it because it is a complete platform. There is a lot of online material that can be used as a reference. You can help yourself while developing a solution. There are some prebuilt applications in the platform environment. You can very easily customize and integrate these applications. It also has flexible scaling of machine resources, which is really great."

Cons
"Adaptive Insights could improve the data designer interface to make integrations easier to set up.""The upload feature exists, but isn't terribly useful.""Better user interface (UI).""Being able to drill down when using OfficeConnect needs work.""The product's configuration process could be faster.""Adaptive Insights has a limit of 1,00,000 rows for HTML reports. It should be improved because we will have multiple dimensions that need to be populated to enhance the image.""It's a Workday product; they could do a little bit better to integrate a pure-play integration with Workday, which really doesn't do that.""The integrations could be simpler. It takes quite a bit of internal and IT know-how to set up."

More Adaptive Insights Cons →

"I would like to see a better Web client, where the controls work the same way as in the Windows client. I do think that the focus is now on the Web, so it should be improved upon.""We have had some challenges with newer version of the rollout in terms of stability.""It would be nice to have more connectors for other data sources. BOARD is a great tool to become the single source of the truth. Making it easier to connect data sources for niche software tools will make it easier to keep everything in one place.""The setup was a bit complex.""We are looking at ways to improve how we deal with security in BOARD and other similar things. ""The one thing that I think we would like to see in terms of improvement of the application is the ability to print. It's fantastic to have all of these graphic visualization of data, but we're not able to very easily just print... From my perspective, if you can have a little "print" button and then you just click it and it would produce what's on the screen, that would be very helpful.""The product can be improved by making it possible to know where cubes are used.""We can't delete entities and cubes in Boards because it interrupts our whole data model."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Everything is negotiable, but this solution is low cost compared to others."
  • "Licensing seems to be worth the cost considering the efficiency Adaptive brings."
  • "Prior to purchasing licenses, make sure you understand which users will only need planning and which users will need both planning and OfficeConnect."
  • "Ensure that you have the proper pricing plan in place."
  • "Adaptive Insights' pricing is reasonable."
  • "Pricing is in line with other cloud-based EPM tools. It is a subscription-based model based upon the number of users and site type if it's an admin or end-user type thing."
  • "Adaptive Insights' pricing is relative to its peer competitors. It's certainly competitive compared to a spreadsheet template that you build in Excel. It can be expensive if you need to have 100-500 budget holders giving input and building financial plans. However, in that case, it becomes an extremely good bargain. Compared to its competitors, it offers an excellent value."
  • "It's affordable."

  • "Find a partner who will take responsibility for the implementation, and be available for support."
  • "In terms of the pricing, it was reasonable. BOARD is not the lowest in the market, but it was reasonable for us."
  • "It is not the cheapest product on earth, but you get so much. It provides good value for money."
  • "The solution is quite expensive, if it is made cheaper then we can have more clients. I rate it four out of ten."
