Good gateway with helpful traffic shaping and load balancing
There must be a wizard section as per the use case. For example, if we need a simple firewall there must be an auto-install of most required packages. In the same way, if we need a more strict firewall, then different configuration settings. There must be a more easy-to-use GUI. More documentation should be available within the package manager. A visible ON/OFF button must be there and can be easily configured as required. An additional non-us electrical plug must be inside the box. There should be an option to upgrade RAM (i.e. 8GB to 16GB). It can enhance the capacity of the proxy server.

Ensures responsive customer support and competitive pricing, but may lack scalability and effectiveness in rapidly evolving networking landscapes
In terms of scalability for the Aruba Remote Access Points, our utilization differs from other companies. While many organizations use them for branch offices, our situation is unique. We didn't have to worry about deploying RAPs extensively because we lacked branch offices. The few instances where we did utilize them involved more effort in configuring and setting up custom solutions, which didn't scale well for us. Since we own the locations where employees work, there wasn't a significant need for off-site connectivity. Those instances that did require off-site access were already integrated into our network. I would rate the scalability of Aruba Remote Access Points a five out of ten. While they are useful, there comes a point where manageability starts to diminish. Since they are not directly tied to the network like traditional access points, they pose some unique challenges. In high-demand scenarios, the performance of Aruba Remote Access Points can vary. While they are built to handle substantial usage, I cannot provide specific numbers. However, we have deployed them successfully for numerous outdoor events and large gatherings where many users connect to them. Despite their capability to handle heavy loads, overutilization is not ideal.

An easy-to-use tool with which its users can access networks from home or external locations
I use OpenVPN Access Server to access certain networks from home or external locations The most valuable features of the solution are that it is easy to use and quick overall. Sometimes OpenVPN Access Server is difficult to connect to, and in our company, we don't know why it is difficult. The…

Pros

"The solution has good performance."
"It's an ideal gateway solution for small and medium businesses, i.e., around 300 devices can be easily handled."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is experienced by those working at home since they get a secure Wi-Fi connection."
"I can use the solution from my home or any remote office to access printers, servers, etc."
"It provides good Spectrum Analysis and troubleshooting."
"Once configured and operational, they tend to function reliably, with few reported issues from clients or customers."
"Aruba Remote Access Points provide a level of protection for our IPs."
"What I like best about Aruba Remote Access Points is that it's pretty easy to set up."
"Aruba works well in large spaces, especially for manufacturing. That's when you start seeing the effectiveness of Aruba."
"It’s very light."
"Provided the easiest UX for our end-users and had the greatest interoperability with all the operating systems we used, including but not limited to: iOS, Android, OS X, Windows, and Linux."
"The setup is easy."
"OpenVPN Access Server is cheap, and we get to use it ourselves. It is also a stable solution."
"Provides privacy and cryptography for my network communication."
"I like that it's easy to use, easy to download, and not hard to manage."
"The stability is very reliable in my experience."
"There is support for multi-factor authentication."
"The features I have found to be most valuable are the levels of encryption I can enact and the compression I can apply to improve throughput."

Cons

"There must be a more easy-to-use GUI."
"The remote access point coverage should be bigger than it is now."
"There is room for improvement in terms of pricing. If they can be more competitive."
"I use the controller when using Aruba Remote Access Points, particularly during configuration. Hence, room for improvement in Aruba Remote Access Points is for its web UI to be easier to control."
"The solution is costly for medium-sized companies."
"The product needs an increased level of security for the end user."
"It would help if the remote APs had some kind of SoHo environment with built-in firewall features. That way it could connect directly in a client-to-site type of environment, or a site-to-site VPN environment. That way users could have a complete office setup without coming to the private cloud."
"Our difficulty with Aruba is that the product and the license are two different items. So, if we are adding an access point, we have to pay for two items. We have to pay to add the access point in the controller and we have to pay for the license."
"The solution's technical support has some shortcomings that need improvement."
"There could be an easier way to set up the solution. However, if you use the provided information that comes with the solution there should not be a problem."
"I would be more happy with the idea of licensing to have a reduced price with longer, grouped, annual fees. We have a lot of other software that does the same thing. It's a little higher price if you're going with a shorter stint, but there's a reduction in price for three- and five-year contracts."
"The security needs to be improved because it was a complaint that our customers had."
"The interface could be a little bit better in future iterations."
"The stability of the solution could improve."
"The server configuration file needs to be improved, it's the biggest problem in the configuration process."
"The solution can be more compatible with different operating systems."
"If someone's key is not working, or if we had to remove someone's permission from it, or maybe an employee left the company and we had to take their key out, that seemed a little bit more complicated than it had to be."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There is not a license required for this solution but the price should be less expensive."
"Aruba pricing is not very high. They offer competitive pricing for what they provide."
"There are no other expenses than standard licenses for the product."
"You require no separate licensing to convert an access point to RAP."
"In terms of pricing, we've found Aruba's offerings to be very competitive."
"Price-wise, Aruba Remote Access Points is in the middle, so my rating for its pricing is three out of five."
"The price of Aruba Remote Access Points could be better. It is a little expensive."
"OpenVPN is a free and open-source solution."
"It is an open-source solution, so we don't pay for anything."
"The solution was free of charge."
"With regard to setup cost, pricing and/or licensing, the simple answer is that you'll need to set aside some time to learn it and experiment with it."
"One of the valuable features of OpenVPN is that it is free for a single user."
"The Pro Edition has a reasonable price per user."
"OpenVPN Access Server is a cheap corporate solution."
"The product's pricing is good value, definitely. It is one of the best features, I would say. Evaluate the product before seeing which type of licensing is good for you. I think there is a good evaluation method available for OpenVPN, so you can just evaluate if it meets your needs. Then go forward with the right licensing policy."
