We performed a comparison between Check Point Harmony Mobile and IBM MaaS360 based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out what your peers are saying about Check Point Software Technologies, Lookout, Zimperium and others in Mobile Threat Defense."The solution is very user-friendly."
"The environment is managed and administered centrally in Check Point Infinity which provides a lot of stability with its other features."
"Network protection, OS protection, application protection, and file protection are valuable. It is also easy to implement and manage."
"Harmony Mobile presents many innovative features."
"The other most valuable service so far has been the assistance provided to us by the Check Point Harmony mobile engineers. They have been so awesome and helpful to us during the setup process."
"The simple navigation offered by the graphical user interface is excellent."
"We like Harmony's ability to encrypt transactions between mobile devices. All the user's transactions are encrypted. That's an excellent feature. We can detect, quarantine, and address any issues in the handset itself."
"I really like the application scanning feature that scans all of the installed applications, and not only what appears in the add or remove apps, and then reports the results in the console."
"MaaS can force people to lock their phones. Not everyone likes having a PIN and other security features on their phones, but this sets a requirement that you can't get your emails unless you have a PIN on your phone. That was a good feature, and we were able to easily increase the PIN from four digits to six digits. Overall, it was pretty user-friendly."
"It is a stable solution."
"It helped us reduce the number of support incidents by limiting users' access to device configurations."
"The most valuable features are mobile device management and security (which allows you to quarantine infected devices)."
"The implementation phase of IBM MaaS360 was pretty easy."
"All features that we have deployed are useful. We do access office emails on our smartphones, and we have complete sync with Active Directory. Our calendar also gets synced in the MaaS360 application. We also ensure that the data from these official applications is not being misused by any of the employees. We have disabled cut, copy, paste, and all such features. It ensures that all the official data that our employees have on their smartphones is secure. Security is the paramount feature that we value in this product."
"My customers value the ability to control all their devices from a central point in IBM MaaS360."
"The product’s most valuable feature is email, browser, and application security."
"Integration needs improvement. We use Check Point for email. We use Check Point Capsule Workspace and I wish that it tied into that better and was integrated with their email application so that when it's secure, then they're able to access their email and it could be deployed as one group instead of two separate applications. It's a little bit more work for us to deploy both of those so it'd be nice if they could be integrated."
"The ability to integrate local and cloud technologies to create a hybrid scenario would be an upgrade."
"The deployment in the Android system is very simple but in the case of iOS, it is more complicated so the users require attention from our CAU."
"I would quite like to be able to block ads on my phone by blocking known inbound ad websites and services."
"We can say that this is a very good solution but Check Point has to reduce the cost."
"At times, when configuring policies, the tool takes some time to apply the policy."
"We had some issues with loopback VPN DNS filtering stopping working periodically, however, this is something that we could probably iron out with support."
"Also, we found configuring device groups & mapping a policy is quite confusing. There should be a simpler interface."
"The UI has room for improvement."
"Configuring policies is difficult in IBM MaaS360. It also needs to improve usability."
"The price could be lower."
"The interface is clunky and the layout is a bit outdated. Also, I don't think MaaS360 has as many features as Intune. It doesn't integrate with Office as seamlessly as Intune does, which isn't surprising, given that Intune and Office are Microsoft products."
"The user interface could definitely use some improvement."
"It would be ideal to add support for the distribution of windows.exe applications."
"The solution needs to offer live technical support. Right now, it's just a chat window and it's rather unhelpful."
"An area for improvement would be handshaking with Microsoft in terms of trying to get a DLP on Microsoft OS."
