Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The solution is stable.""On the outside, the main differentiation is because Lookout ingest. They have ingested basically all of the apps for the last ten years and all the versions of all the apps, and we have that in a corporate database that allows us to do very large-scale machine learning and analysis on that data set. That's not something that any of the competitors really have the capability to do because they don't have access to the data set. A lot of the apps you can no longer get them because that version of the app is five or six years old, and it just doesn't exist anywhere anymore, except within our infrastructure. So, the ability to have that very rich dataset and learn from that dataset is a real differentiator.""The most valuable features are the antivirus as a whole, the anti-malware, and all of the protection features that scan our enterprise devices.""The protection offered by the product is the most valuable feature. It detects vulnerabilities or traps on our users' phones and then prompts them to clean up their devices. Tools we used previously would only discover, which required us to gather information on the backend, so Lookout is a welcome upgrade."

"SmartConsole is intuitive.""Application control gives IT teams an opportunity to set suitable policies that can be used by all teams when coding.""You don't have to wander around the tool since it is very simple. You can grab and get a hold of the tool very quickly.""The product is very user-friendly.""I think this solution is very helpful to our customers because its cloud-based security can be deployed quickly and maintained easily.""The most valuable feature that I see in the application is the filtering of the URLs.""It can also be used as a reverse proxy through the checkpoint.""It has an excellent threat prevention mechanism."

"Stability-wise, I rate the solution a nine and a half out of ten...The setup phase was easy.""The users are at different locations, and Zscaler helps us to put the organization's central security controls on these roaming users.""One on the main benefits is protection all time from anywhere.""We don't have to buy equipment to use it. And when our engineers set it up on our side, we just configured a few settings and we were in.""The URL filtering has been the most valuable feature.""The most valuable feature is the ability to drop packets.""The most valuable feature of the solution is SWG traffic.""The most valuable feature of Zscaler Internet Access is that it is a consolidated solution, it comes with many features, such as DLP."

Cons
"The stability depends on the service from where you access it. Because sometimes, the place you are in, you have Gateway. You don't have Gateway. The gateway is overutilized. At the end, you need to go through their gateways. And this is the key point here. You have a tracking point. If it's not well orchestrated, and it scales up as you add more to the existing team, you will suffer""Lookout was moving into the SSE space. And so their work on SecureWeb Gateway and SD-WAN is still sort of evolving.""We just submitted an enhancement request reflecting the main area we want to see improvement in; the APIs. Currently, we're able to build dashboards, but it's somewhat backward because we use our MDM API to create them. Lookout should provide API to customers so we can query our data and use it in our cloud, and this is the only outstanding area for improvement with the product right now.""From the analysis that we've done, they do seem to be maybe a step behind in trying to enter the market with a new solution. But when they do pick up, they do come out with some good products."

More Lookout Cons →

"The tool's response time can be improved since sometimes it lags, but not always...The tool's UI should be made more dynamic.""There is room for improvement in support because the solution needs multiple regions to reach certain features and validations.""The solution should improve integration.""It is not user-friendly.""Some documents needed to implement with the best practices are difficult to understand, take longer than expected to apply, and sometimes even require support.""Check Point Web Gateway could improve the user interface. It could be made more modern.""The support team’s response is not fast.""We would really benefit from some more visual features that can help view the impact of the security gateway in the organization."

More Check Point Web Gateway Cons →

"When you have appliances, SSL inspection is always a headache due to poor performance and/or lack of ciphers implemented. ""Zscaler Internet Access could improve by adding a VPN feature.""It needs better integration with other applications. It takes a fair amount of regular activity to apply the by-passes because it is very strict in its restrictions and frequently you have to go in and open things up to allow the workforce to work.""Sometimes, support isn't available.""They should enhance the audit reporting feature.""The price of the solution could be improved.""They could provide more time for the onboarding the training of an IT person.""I don't know whether it's Zscaler or not, however, sometimes I can't access my time management. I need to wait and try again a few hours later. Typically, if I let some time pass, I can access it again."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The pricing is fair; it's comparable to our previous solution, and we carried out multiple POCs and POVs (proof of value). The product is worth the money we pay for it."
  • "Lookout is definitely on the lower end when it comes to price point and that seems to be the only differentiator. The technology is in place in this space and it's really about who is coming in at the better price point now."
  • "In terms of feature performance versus cost, they're a good value."
  • "The licensing costs are good. Prisma has much more options and support for security, but it has a higher cost. For example, Lookout costs 2/3rd of Prisma's licensing price."

  • "The price is very high."

      Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by Zscaler Internet Access users.

A Service Manager at a construction company says, "There are a bunch of different capabilities that are valuable within the platform. We use quite a lot of them, but not everything. The ones that are most important to us are the URL Filtering and the application control. For our needs, the cloud-native proxy architecture is a very good solution. This architecture helps with cyber threats because we inspect most of the traffic and we can see that a lot of threats are stopped directly in the secure web gateway."

Owen N., Security Architect at Claro Enterprise Solutions, explains that the solution’s most valuable features include “The integration of the gateway that inspects all ports and protocols. So, there is threat prevention; The cloud sandbox; VNS security; Access control that will protect URL filtering and the cloud firewall; Data protection that will protect your gateway, like your CASB or your cloud DLP; The capabilities of this will point your traffic to Zscaler Cloud.”

An Architecture Senior Manager at an insurance company mentions, "The data loss prevention feature is the most valuable. It stops our users from inadvertently leaking our customers' data to the Internet or anywhere else it shouldn't go." He also adds, “The solution provides quick access to cloud services, securing our data and allowing us to inspect all our traffic.”
