We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The whole solution is very good, and stable.""The most valuable feature of this solution is the filtering.""I like most of Cisco's features, like malware detection and URL filtering.""Cisco Sourcefire SNORT is easy to configure and the reporting is great. It's also very user-friendly.""In general, the features are all great. However, if I need to take hardware for ASA, because they need to upgrade to Firepower, we want to create rules. For that, most of the time we go to the command line. Right now Firepower is working really hard on the grid. You can apply all those rules to the grid. Even if you want to monitor the logs, for example, the activity will tell you which particular user has been blocked because of that rule. Firepower's monitoring interface is very good, because you can see each and every piece. ASA also had it, but there you needed to type the command and be under the server to see all that stuff. In Firepower you have the possibility to go directly to the firewall. The way the monitoring is displayed is also very nice. The feature I appreciate most in Firepower is actually the grid. The grid has worked very well.""Cisco technical support is unbeatable. It offers a premium service every time.""The product is inexpensive compared to leading brands such as Palo Alto or Fortinet.""The most valuable features of Cisco Sourcefire SNORT are the dashboard for monitoring events."

"It integrates easily.""You don't need any hardware because the solution is on the cloud. I like that Trend Micro TippingPoint Threat Protection System is easy to install and manage.""The monitoring is the most valuable feature.""Trend Micro TippingPoint Threat Protection System is very stable. In addition, the provider gives notice of any changes well in advance, which is important for planning updates.""The most valuable feature is the central command center, where we can control and manage the solution.""What I found most valuable in Trend Micro TippingPoint Threat Protection System is its accuracy. It's the best IPS solution in the market.""The IPS signatures and the IPS database that are given are much better than what is commonly available.""I would rate TTPS's stability eight out of ten."

Cons
"If the price is brought down then everybody will be happy.""The solution's approach to managing traffic blocking is confusing and impractical.""We are unhappy with technical support for this solution, and it is not as professional as what we typically expect from Cisco.""I don't think this solution is a time-based control system, because one cannot filter traffic based on time.""While the alerts they offer are good, it could improve it in the sense that they should be more detailed to make the alerts more useful to us in general. Sometimes the solution will offer up false positives. Due to the fact that the alerts aren't detailed, we have to go dig around to see why is it being blocked. The solution would be infinitely better if there was just a bit more detail in the alert information and logging we receive.""The cloud can be improved.""The implementation could be a bit easier.""Performance needs improvement."

"Trend Micro TippingPoint Threat Protection System needs strong Spanish-language support.""We need more integration. It would be good if Azure IPS and TippingPoint IPS and other products from Trend Micro like their DBI and IWSVA could talk between each other.""I find Trend Micro TippingPoint Threat Protection System a bit clunky, and updating it can be a pain in the neck because you need to do it from time to time, so this is what needs to be improved in it. I would also rather have an all-in-one system that does intrusion detection, protection, web filtering, and also serves as a firewall, and my company is moving to an all-in-one solution, but I'm unsure of how soon that's going to be. Trend Micro TippingPoint Threat Protection System also doesn't have enough bandwidth to handle the required traffic within my company, so it's going to be replaced.""It takes a lot of time before you're connected to an engineer, so an area for improvement in Trend Micro TippingPoint Threat Protection System is the response time of its technical support team.""There is room for improvement in customer service and support.""An area for improvement in Trend Micro TippingPoint Threat Protection System is the complexity of its interface.""I would like to see this solution more lightweight and easier to install.""TTPS is a bit behind in visuals, the UI, and some data elements."
