We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The reporting that we can generate from IBM Blueworks Live has been interesting. We found the KPIs, risks, process modeling, format, and colors, to be very good. We use the EY template and it is interesting to generate reporting in this format.""Business users understand it really well, which means we can then help them automate their business processes.""It has the ability to document in different formats. It is not tied to a specific model. You can look at it from different angles and see the intuitive nature of it. It always generates a valid diagram. You cannot create something that is not BPMN compliant.""The solution is stable. All the refreshes run very well.""The stability is pretty good. It is highly available, which is key. You don't lose your work and can autosave.""It's very easy, very quick to create a process map. It has templates. The look and feel is very nice. What we want to achieve out of the process map, we can achieve it using Blueworks.""It has a built-in capability to capture process owners and managers against processes along with other process governance roles.""It is a stable solution since there has not been any downtime. Everything loads fast."

"The solution is very stable.""Provides a valuable BPMN feature.""It has simplified compliance with regulations and company standards.""Finding the right symbol and creating links, horizontal and vertical are the features I use.""We found the technical support to be helpful.""Another good feature is that the numbering of the shapes in iGrafx is much easier and more convenient, in comparison to what is found in Visio. So far I haven't found anything similar to what I have with iGrafx, in that regard.""Simulation is most valuable.""This product fulfills ninety percent of our needs, and we're happy as users of it."

Cons
"I wish Blueworks Live had simulations built in, but it doesn't. It also lacks a feature of reporting; ad hoc, drag and drop reporting. A lot of senior people are always asking for reports, and there's no reporting feature within IBM Blueworks.""Sometimes, the tool is automatic, which can complicate it, but once you're accustomed to manipulating it, you can use it very effectively.""It is BPMN-compliant but the tool needs to be more involved to get into a completely 2.0 oriented tool. It has a few things but it's not the complete BPMN model.""The APIs are great, except the normal business user doesn't know how to create APIs. So it's hard because IBM comes to us as the business users and tell us to create reporting with APIs, except we don't know that, so we have to turn around and flip it to our IT people.""In the solution Signavio, they have a customer journey mapping feature that should be added to IBM Blueworks Live. It's valuable to map or document the customer journey to identify the pains and opportunities in this process.""Spaces are not well organized; space controls are lacking.""The initial setup is neither straightforward nor complex however you do need to know what you are doing.""The objects that the solution creates are not unique."

More IBM Blueworks Live Cons →

"With iGrafx, the implementation and the licensing were pretty complex.""In the next release, I would like to see more layers like three, four, and five. It might be possible but I haven't seen it yet.""The look and feel, along with the ease of use of the solution's web modeling version, is an area with certain shortcomings.""It would be helpful to be able to do more analytics and generate reports on historical documents that have already been uploaded to the server.""It would be nice to have a Spanish user interface available to us.""I would love to see a template and shapes for customer journey mapping.""The price could be more competitive.""The solution could benefit from improvements to its interface. More specifically, when compared to other tools, the process modeling features lack symbols or object types that are used to represent the information or data within the process."
