Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The addition of the retention set feature provides a reduction in storage costs. It also reduces RTO and RPO so that you can respond quickly to your clients and services in case of data loss.""What I found most valuable in IBM Spectrum Protect is that it allows you to back up physical machines, and its proxy feature lets you back up virtual machines.""We can freeze and start databases for consistent backups.""I find the whole product useful. The backup archive client, snapshot, spectrum for virtual environments are beneficial features.""We can use it with any storage for the back-end to save data.""Incremental forever: This feature helps us reduce backup time and backup storage space.""Scalability is pretty much unlimited.""The platform has valuable stability."

Cons
"It seems like they are a little behind on the integration to Azure Cloud as well as Amazon.""We have run into some periods where we have found some tape issues which were causing us problems, but we resolved them. For some reason, we had a bunch of drives go offline on our disk storage (our virtual library).""The administration interface should implement more functionalities that exist only in the command line and needs improvement in how some reports are created.""I would like to advance reporting and analytics for the platform to see how much data is coming into the platform. how much data is expiring everyday, and what tape savings we are getting through reclamation.""IBM Spectrum Protect is not a very user-friendly tool.""My customers are not always happy with the Level 1 support. Sometimes, it just takes too long for the response to come, which is probably something that needs to be addressed.""It does not do too well in our virtual environment.""It needs agents that take into account more databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.)."
