Find out in this report how the two Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."I like how Microsoft Intune lets me lock down the email profile and make it accessible only on certain devices."
"Easy to use."
"It is a very stable and scalable cloud-only solution."
"In terms of technical support, you will get an immediate response."
"The many policies available in Microsoft Intune for managing our devices are valuable."
"Intune is effective because of the configuration management and endpoint security it provides. The graphical interface makes it easier to configure and deploy devices."
"The central administration con dashboard is very easy to use and provides very good oversight on all that needs to be monitored."
"There is a single pane of glass for user access and a single sign-on facility for the user. If you have already logged in to Microsoft Azure or on-premises, you can redirect directly to Microsoft Endpoint Manager, monitor all your security threats, and analyze the data associated with the application in a single, unified way."
"We are able to manage our full fleet of devices and can simply integrate with all of our systems."
"Jamf Pro is the only product we can use at the moment because they are ahead of their competitors in zero-touch deployment for the end-user. Jamf Pro has a self-service feature that has helped us minimize our support cases. That's a feature the customers like very much."
"Being able to easily deploy apps and patches to our client computers with minimal hands-on time from our techs has been huge."
"We like the pre-stage enrollments."
"The zero-day support regarding new Apple hardware and Apple operating systems is very good."
"Policies are a great feature that allows us to push certain restrictions to devices that require them, such as the younger generation of students we have."
"We found the initial setup to be simple."
"We can see every single Mac is on which macOS version so we can help users if needed to update their Macs to a saved and current version."
"The product works perfectly for patch management and software deployments."
"The solution's most valuable features are its patch management capabilities, especially for third-party applications, along with quick and easy configuration and deployment processes."
"ManageEngine Desktop Central automatically alerts you if there are newer releases or updates. You do not have to go to their website and check."
"The solution is definitely scalable."
"The patch management aspect of the solution is the most valuable part for us."
"In terms of technical capability, it is doing very well. It is doing better than other industry products. It is at a place where we can compare it with Microsoft products. Its scalability is also good."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is the Patch Management."
"The mobile functionality is very easy."
"The reporting needs to be a bit more interactive."
"They can improve their MAM policies a little bit more and make them more granular. They should include more granular group policies. They are there, but they need to be more granular. Its stability should also be improved. It is not very stable. Sometimes, it shows some inconsistencies across tenants."
"It would really be helpful to have the option to manage server operating systems as well, like Windows Server, at least. That way, we could scrap the use of SCCM, which requires a lot of on-premises infrastructure."
"The installation is very easy. However, to be able to configure it you will need special knowledge, such as training or self-studies to have a proper level of security. There are many settings one has to understand before being able to implement Microsoft Intune."
"The feature that allows us to import the business application from the configuration manager to Intune is not very good at this time."
"The configuration could be better by consolidating options and making it simpler."
"The configuration and pricing can be improved."
"The pricing could be improved."
"Simple things like finding policies, configuration profiles, and smart computer groups that are not used by any client could be easier."
"Jamf Pro currently is only used on Mac computers and could improve by having compatibility with other operating systems. We have to use other tools to manage our Windows and Android devices. There could be other improvements but I am still exploring and learning more about the features."
"The response time for support could be significantly improved."
"It would be great for Jamf to provide templates for commonly used tasks like updating an operating system, packaging commonly used apps like Office 365, or enabling FileVault."
"Jamf does not go beyond Apple."
"There are known issues with the mobile configs that need to be fixed."
"A more modern UI in the next release will make the product absolutely perfect."
"The dashboard needs to be customizable."
"The solution is expensive."
"The only problem with it is that the setup isn't very intuitive. I know that they just upgraded the product to make it a little bit easier to use, but compared to some of the other platforms, it is not easy to configure it, set it up, and get it running. However, once you have set it up and got it running, it runs great."
"Their support channel could be better. They're an India-based company. They're based out of India. So, here in the States, support can be difficult when you're dealing with time zone requirements. A more global support channel would be a wise choice for them."
"Compared to the solution we use to manage our Mac products, this solution lacks the ability to create dynamic groups. We would like the ability, for example, for machines which have been upgraded to form part of a grouping based on this upgrade."
"The pricing could be a bit better."
"Documentation could improve so we don't need to create the support requests first."
"ManageEngine could be improved by giving customers an option to perform certain actions proactively. Since I was a consultant, I worked on different products and some had advantages over ManageEngine. For example, proactive remediation—you want to proactively check something on the computers and run the script. In ManageEngine, you have the option to run the script, but Intune has the option to do so proactively. ManageEngine doesn't have this. You should have the option to act proactively, not just going ahead and fixing it once it's done. Proactive remediation should be a feature."
"The OS deployment could be better."
