Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Intune enables us to manage our devices from anywhere.""It works well if you have a Microsoft environment.""The stability is good.""The solution is easy to use.""The ability to send configurations to our systems is valuable, particularly as we don't have a regular Windows AD server. Our current environment doesn't have a Windows AD, which limits our ability to push GPOs. However, this is where the solution can step in and help us push policies.""The solution is easy to use, simple to understand for those new to using it, and combined with the other Microsoft products it makes for an overall good package.""The ability to switch between Affinity and non-Affinity enrollment is great.""It provides control over all mobile devices that are being connected to the corporate network."

"The fact that devices just need an internet connection [anywhere in the world] that allows them to check into the Jamf Software Server allows for identical management as if on campus or remote, has proven to be golden during the pandemic.""We are able to manage our full fleet of devices and can simply integrate with all of our systems.""The user interface is great.""It is a great tool. Its ease of use is fantastic. It is very simple, and you don't really have a high learning curve with this.""Jamf has made it achievable for us to easily deploy & manage Apple devices anywhere in the world, without the need for hands-on assistance from IT staff.""The ease of use and access allows us to manage all of our devices collaboratively.""We can see every single Mac is on which macOS version so we can help users if needed to update their Macs to a saved and current version.""Apple School Manager integration and access to VPP content made the integration of devices into our fleet flawless and application installation much simpler and faster."

"The product is a unified solution and you don't require to purchase tools from different vendors. The system analyzes behavior and activity and takes steps for protection.""The solution is very good at securing files. For example, if I forward a secure document, it's blocked from others, as I can send it with restrictions in relation to who can open it.""Microsoft Mobility and EMS include Intune for Mobility, which provides mobile device management and mobile application management. With mobile device management, you can control the entire device in an organization.""The solution is scalable.""Integration between our departments has been the most valuable.""You can scale the solution up or down by department.""The product is centralized and we can use it for security purposes.""A good feature that is present is MAM or Mobile Application Management. We can deploy this feature on the device, which is not managed by the organization. If I apply some security configuration on a personal device, the user would be really disappointed. What we do instead is that we give all access to the applications related to corporate and ask the users to use the application. We secure the application by putting the security features on the applications and not on the users' devices. This way, the users are happy, and we also meet our company's compliance standards. Then, everyone is happy."

Cons
"The most important thing is reporting. They should improve their reporting. They should give a free hand to users. In SCCM, I can create my own reports. For example, in SCCM, I can create an inventory report for my PC or for all PCs, but in Intune, we don't have an option to create any report. Microsoft claims that Intune is a successor of SCCM, but SCCM is more powerful than Intune. So, they should develop Intune more and make it equivalent to SCCM. Then, their product will be great in the market.""The reporting is subpar. That's the only issue we have with Intune. We use another solution for that purpose.""The feature that allows us to import the business application from the configuration manager to Intune is not very good at this time.""We faced issues with macOS support. The product should have better inventory and asset management.""While Intune works perfectly well, the only potential downside is that the deployment could be a bit complex for some users.""There are items that require improvements. One is the controls from iOS.""The pricing can be expensive if you are not combining it with other products.""We haven't really gone through all the features of Intune. We are just discovering them. Every day, we see a new feature that we want to apply, but what will be great for Intune is to be able to deploy apps in a simple fashion. We should be able to easily install various apps on the Windows platform, iOS, and Android. Currently, we have to write some scripts. It's not as straightforward as we would like it to be. It should be simplified so that we can do it just with three clicks—next, next, finish—without needing to write a script."

More Microsoft Intune Cons →

"An in-house chat room would be a great way to communicate with your team when you aren't physically present with them.""Training should be more accessible and cheaper.""This solution would benefit from more focus on Self Service, such as Office 365 and GSuite integration.""I would like to see Jamf add more training tutorials and documentation.""I would love to see more integration with ASM and ABM.""Jamf doesn't make the Cloud file system visible so there are rare occasions where the local repository and Cloud repository get out of sync.""Patch Management needs work to be efficient.""It would be nice to be able to search smart groups and/or filter them."

More Jamf Pro Cons →

"The auditing and reporting could be updated and upgraded. I would like to see light applications because they consume a lot of the device's memory at present.""The MDM part of the engine could be better.""The licensing can be messy at times.""There are certain shortcomings in the licensing model of the product where improvements are required.""Microsoft Enterprise Mobility + Security is expensive.""Technical support could be improved. Sometimes they use a third party that's not so knowledgeable in the product and that can slow down things a bit.""Microsoft's feature management is based on licenses. Microsoft follows ethical licensing and hence do not restrict the use of it.""Its performance needs enhancement."

    Reviews from Real Users

Microsoft Intune stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its ability to secure all devices under its management and the flexibility that the solution offers its users.

A computing services manager notes, "Its security is most valuable. It gives us a way to secure devices, not only those that are steady. We do have a few tablets and other devices, and it is a way for us to secure these devices and manage them. We know they're out there and what's their status. We can manage their life cycle and verify that they're updated properly."

The head of IT engineering at a financial services company writes, "The one feature we find most useful is the Mobile Application Manager. There are two types: we have the complete MDM and the Mobile Application Manager (MAM). We don't give our users phones, it is their own personal phone, and we need to allow them to have access to the company details on their phone. We need to create a balance between their own personal data and the company data. We deploy the Mobile Application Manager for them so that we won't be able to interfere with their own personal data."

    Reviews from Real Users

Jamf Pro stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Some of these include its app deployment, its easy installation, and the fact that it’s lightweight but powerful. PeerSpot users take note of the advantages of these features in their reviews:

An IT Support Specialist at Visby Medical writes, “The first most valuable feature I found was the ability to simply push out applications to devices, Mac or iPads/iPhones. It's as easy as procuring the licensing for the apps and then setting it to the volume purchasing back in Jamf.”

Another reviewer, a Desktop Engineer at Kroger, notes, “The self-service portal to share scripts and other tasks that have extremely minimized the need for calls to our support teams, or even sharing the applications we package and allowing users to pick and choose what apps they need or want, instead of just blanket installing everything from our old environment.”

Microsoft Enterprise Mobility + Security (EMS) is the only comprehensive solution designed to help manage and protect users, devices, apps, and data in a mobile-first, cloud-first world.
