Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The UI is easy. It's not very code based, so you can make certain changes on your end.""The most valuable feature is the flexibility in using it.""Newgen will structure the system based on all the requirements of the business. We can design the forms as complex forms or make our own versions to fix what's wrong.""They are a good team that is proactive, and they are trying to accommodate all of our requirements.""The most valuable feature for us is the Omnicon. That made sense for us because our company is now able to capture information from documents.""The most valuable features of Newgen OmniFlow are the user interface, the low-code no-code designer tools, and the integration models are important.""It is working fine so far. I haven't heard anything bad about it from the applications team that is using it, so I assume that it is doing okay."

"Fast prototyping.""This solution is useful for business process management if you have any banking solutions or need to manage a process.""The robotic process automation has increased the confidence of business users.""The case management functionality of this solution has been most valuable.""Overall, the ability to integrate with multiple applications and effective case management is the most valuable.""The solution offers excellent workflows.""The ability to define processes, build reports, and get insights or analytics on data is most valuable. It is a powerful platform.""The most valuable features of Pega BPM are low code, no code, functionality, and easy development."

Cons
"Newgen OmniFlow could improve by having more out-of-the-box integration modules. It would be beneficial to have an analytics model that is not currently present.""There should be some reporting and dashboarding capabilities. I don't see such capabilities built into it. Sometimes, the leadership wants to understand the business cases that we want to automate. We face a lot of challenges to justify why we are using Newgen, and we need a way to present that to the leadership. If there is something out of the box and if we can get meaningful dashboards and reporting capabilities, it would be helpful.""At the system level, I would like to see things be much more flexible, especially for different document templates and introducing changes.""I would like to see more automated analytics built into the solution.""In terms of stability, like every product it has its issues.""We had consistent issues of Newgen OmniFlow crashing. It's not compatible with bounce browsers like Chrome.""The development teams should be more agile and they need to have more team members."

More Newgen OmniFlow Cons →

"This is an expensive solution.""There is a scarcity of resources who have worked with this solution before.""Reporting is not so clear and not so great. We really struggle to get the right reporting. When we need reporting based on the content of the tickets, we are not able to get it. The MIS reporting is not great. That's one of the reasons why we are switching to ServiceNow. Its compatibility with the higher versions of Internet Explorer should be improved. It really works well in Mozilla Firefox or any other browser, but when it comes to Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer, sometimes, the layout gets disturbed. The positioning of the buttons changes, and there is some distortion in the layout. I am not sure whether it is our configuration problem or Pega's, but when it is working in Mozilla Firefox, it should also work in Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer.""In the next release of Pega BPM, they should add more ways to do the customer interaction fields in the portals.""From a technical point of view, it would be helpful to have some advanced analytics to help with configuration. We have a lot of unwanted features and it would be good to configure it more appropriately so that we are using just exactly what we need.""One of the areas of this solution that could be improved would be to advance the low code features of the application itself. We would also like to use the same platform to build any application, even if it is not necessarily defined as a functionality needed by a BPM.""The solution's pricing model or licensing model could be a little better.""There are some UX shortcomings within the solution. However, it's my understanding that they have addressed them and in the next three months they will come out with a new updated version. They will be moving away from HTML5."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Overall, this solution is very cost effective when compared to other solutions in the market."
  • "Its price is a bit on the high side, but that's okay. From a company perspective, it is reasonable."
  • "The price of Newgen OmniFlow is priced reasonably."
  • "The on-prem solution is affordable. The cloud solution is more expensive. There are no additional costs to the standard licensing fees."
  • More Newgen OmniFlow Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Licensing is expensive. You need to wisely select between per user and per case."
  • "They have both on-premise and cloud licensing. If you are a small to medium company, go for the cloud option because that eliminates a lot of the setting up of your DevTest and performance environments, multiple environments, because you can buy that from Pega with the cloud option. So your setup time really goes down. If you're a large company, then you're better off putting it within your company. You have other skill resources within your company to create environments."
  • "They need to come up with licensing options. Right now they do have a cloud-based option, but the cloud prices I've seen are much more expensive compared to competing products."
  • "The licensing fees are based on the number of users."
  • "May be somewhat more expensive than other solutions initially, but should have enhanced return on investment."
  • "The price of this solution, including installation and configuration, is comparable to competing vendors."
  • "The pricing is pretty good, compared to other similar products."
  • "It's a user-based license where, as you scale the numbers of users, the price increases."
