We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Important features include that it comprises lots of functionality to connect data from various sources through connector availability, scheduling pipelines at any time, and integration with third-party and security solutions for encryption.""One of the things I like is the data pipelines. They have a very good design. Implementing pipelines is very straightforward. It doesn't require any technical skill.""In StreamSets, everything is in one place.""StreamSets Transformer is a good feature because it helps you when you are developing applications and when you don't want to write a lot of code. That is the best feature overall.""It is really easy to set up and the interface is easy to use.""I really appreciate the numerous ready connectors available on both the source and target sides, the support for various media file formats, and the ease of configuring and managing pipelines centrally.""The most valuable features are the option of integration with a variety of protocols, languages, and origins.""It is a very powerful, modern data analytics solution, in which you can integrate a large volume of data from different sources. It integrates all of the data and you can design, create, and monitor pipelines according to your requirements. It is an all-in-one day data ops solution."

"I like the tool's scalability.""Oracle's self-service capabilities, of which we make extensive use, is the most valuable feature.""The solution is scalable.""It's easy to construct new interfaces like apps and client portals.""The connectivity that the tool provides, along with the functionalities needed for our company's business, are some of the beneficial aspects of the product.""There's hardware, software and application integration, providing hosting flexibility.""Our use case is for integration factory for SAP. It is mostly for SAP integration."

Cons
"We create pipelines or jobs in StreamSets Control Hub. It is a great feature, but if there is a way to have a folder structure or organize the pipelines and jobs in Control Hub, it would be great. I submitted a ticket for this some time back.""The software is very good overall. Areas for improvement are the error logging and the version history. I would like to see better, more detailed error logging information.""One thing that I would like to add is the ability to manually enter data. The way the solution currently works is we don't have the option to manually change the data at any point in time. Being able to do that will allow us to do everything that we want to do with our data. Sometimes, we need to manually manipulate the data to make it more accurate in case our prior bifurcation filters are not good. If we have the option to manually enter the data or make the exact iterations on the data set, that would be a good thing.""There aren't enough hands-on labs, and debugging is also an issue because it takes a lot of time. Logs are not that clear when you are debugging, and you can only select a single source for a pipeline.""Sometimes, it is not clear at first how to set up nodes. A site with an explanation of how each node works would be very helpful.""I would like to see further improvement in the UI. In addition, upgrades are not automatic and they should be automated. Currently, we have to manually upgrade versions.""Visualization and monitoring need to be improved and refined.""StreamSet works great for batch processing but we are looking for something that is more real-time. We need latency in numbers below milliseconds."

More StreamSets Cons →

"The products, at the moment, are new and there should perhaps be support for the older version of the protocols.""I am not satisfied with the solution because it takes too much effort to migrate and add new information. The migration could be easier.""The product's stability is an area of concern where improvements are required.""webMethods.io Integration's installation is complex. It should also improve integration and connectors.""Rules engine processes and BPM processes should be improved.""It is difficult to maintain.""The solution's release management feature could be better."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "We are running the community version right now, which can be used free of charge."
  • "StreamSets Data Collector is open source. One can utilize the StreamSets Data Collector, but the Control Hub is the main repository where all the jobs are present. Everything happens in Control Hub."
  • "It has a CPU core-based licensing, which works for us and is quite good."
  • "There are different versions of the product. One is the corporate license version, and the other one is the open-source or free version. I have been using the corporate license version, but they have recently launched a new open-source version so that anybody can create an account and use it. The licensing cost varies from customer to customer. I don't have a lot of input on that. It is taken care of by PMO, and they seem fine with its pricing model. It is being used enterprise-wide. They seem to have got a good deal for StreamSets."
  • "The pricing is good, but not the best. They have some customized plans you can opt for."
  • "We use the free version. It's great for a public, free release. Our stance is that the paid support model is too expensive to get into. They should honestly reevaluate that."
  • "The overall cost for small and mid-size organizations needs to be better."
  • "There are two editions, Professional and Enterprise, and there is a free trial. We're using the Professional edition and it is competitively priced."

  • "The pricing is a yearly license."
  • "webMethods.io Integration's pricing is high and has yearly subscription costs."
