We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable feature is being able to go back and pull resources from people who have over-allocated resources, on their request for service. I also like being able to hand out the link to hit that web GUI. I can give it to my web guys, the security guys, and let them look at what their actual servers are doing.""The built-in dashboards for troubleshooting are nice.""The analysis features available with it allow us to do very high-level, enhanced root-cause analysis on events and issues that arise.""VMware provides good support. We are a GSS customer which means that we have global support with a dedicated engineer from VMware's side so we have no issues with support.""The initial setup is quite easy and straightforward. The majority of the time, implementing vROps is not time-consuming.""The reporting is a fantastic tool. It's a great tool for generating reports on different things, and for historically looking at performance metrics to help solve performance problems in an application stack.""It has allowed me to give the developers insight into what's actually happening underneath the covers. They used to only be able to see their app and now, they can see underneath. We've also given them access to see into the OS and we've given them a full stack view of how their application is performing.""It is intuitive and user-friendly. As you go through it, with some of the wizards and some of the interfaces that are out there, I think it's fairly easy to step through, even when we're training new employees to work with the product."

"The solution is useful for cloud transparency and visibility in reports and dashboards that I have generated, especially the pre-populated dashboards.""The product is easy to use in terms of monitoring all the environments. It works for multiple clouds.""We use dashboards quite heavily, but one of the features that have really stood out is some of the policies we've created to alert us of particular situations.""The pricing is rather competitive right now.""It's stable. For report presentation, it's been fast.""The most valuable thing I have found is the cost saving recommendations""This solution is fast and very easy to understand, even if you are not a technician.""The solution is good for cloud cost management."

Cons
"The integration points can use improvement. We currently use a lot of third-party management packs to get insights for SQL, HP or Dell EMC. If we could have more integration built in as a standard feature that would make it slightly better.""When we first bought it, our vision was to use role-based access, give application teams access to view a dashboard for their stuff. We found out that the vROps tool can't handle more than about 20 concurrent sessions... We have some 3000 applications.""VMware could improve the way VROps forwards critical alerts to Microsoft Teams.""The main concern would be just to make sure that there's some consistency when third-parties are building their various content packs for it. It seems like it's pretty random in terms of what you're going to get. A vendor is are going to provide whatever they provide but it's really hit or miss in terms of how good the quality is.""The solution can improve by offering more flexible integration with other platforms or products, such as Hyper-V or Azure. Not everyone uses VMware. It would be beneficial to have a more open-source concept for integration, creating more visibility across multiple clouds.""I would like to see multi-cloud support. It would be nice to see analytics not only on-prem but on VMWare Cloud on AWS. I think that's in the roadmap.""VMware vRealize Operations (vROps) should improve instant monitoring. Currently, the monitoring is on an interval of five to ten minutes, if I want to know what is happening now I cannot.""If this tool can integrate with other products, for example, those that monitor the network devices or any other storage devices, it will be very beneficial."

More VMware Aria Operations Cons →

"The Perspectives feature could be better.""The solution doesn't offer the best functionality, unfortunately. Some features just simply aren't on offer. The solution needs to offer more product milestones.""They should provide information or tools to tune the cloud resources according to the environment size.""It would be helpful to have a mobile version or a tablet version, especially for people who are outside of the office.""The performance and accuracy of Cloud Health need to be improved.""The export features regarding CSV files and specifically around identifying savings plans have room for improvement, as well as the drill-down features for reservation utilization.""I would like to see better integration from CloudHealth to create easier setup and implementation.""CloudHealth needs to start building out Turbonomics-types of features that help the customers who are using CloudHealth really understand everything down to the server level, the virtual machine level."
