Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It's a very good IT tool for a company that provides IT services. It is very helpful for technicians to work with the tool to see all of the customers in one place and then manage all of the computers in one place.""It's definitely improved the help-desk servicing, et cetera.""It allows us to manage all client requests, jobs and invoicing.""The database is great. It's a nicely ordered database.""The most value we get from this solution is that everything is on a patch cycle.""The implementation is nice and easy.""We use monitors to keep track of our machines. We use a pretty good portion of information from Automate.""This product saves us a lot of time and increases our efficiency."

"The initial setup was very easy.""I have called for help to their technical support, and they have been extremely helpful.""This solution has allowed granular permission access to machines, very consistent and solid most of the time.""Provides remote access, allows me to get inside our network to be able to fix problems.""I like being able to dial in and transfer files for updates.""It is convenient for my workers to be at home. Therefore, it is easier for them as their second job to do the work. That is a plus, and I improve productivity.""I like the security aspect, that I can glance down and see quickly who's up to date on patches, and who has virus concerns.""It allows you to transfer along with many other functions."

Cons
"The fixed client for Automate is slow. The web client is not very intuitive.""The menu doesn't always load properly.""They always change the GUI to some dumb-down version of tiles which are more "user-friendly", but slows my team down in the end.""Patching and reporting need improvements, especially reporting. The reporting engine is quite outdated, so you end up having to use your own dashboard.""We would love to get feature updates and cumulative updates fixed. I know they aren't really supposed to be pushed with Patch Manager. We've got recommendations from ConnectWise to use the scripted feature update installs, scripted KB updates, etc. Having these in Patch Manager itself would be great.""I have a problem with the reports available on the solution. I don't understand how to work with the reporting functionality. For example, when I want to give a report for a specific machine, ConnectWise doesn't seem to have this as an option. I'm not sure if I'm missing something, or if the reporting functionality is just poorly conceived.""The project management needs improvement and there's a section of the product called configuration that also needs to be improved.""Their support needs to be better."

More ConnectWise Automate Cons →

"There are some screens that are just ugly and difficult to manipulate.""The file transfer could be better. They could make it a lot easier to deal with. LogMeIn Central is not that intuitive. It's a lot harder to figure out.""Compared to other products, I feel that their biggest weakness has been customer service. They are very nice, but things take forever to resolve. It has been a major issue there. Otherwise, we're happy. We haven't moved away from them because we haven't found anybody with comparable pricing for our business model.""They should provide intermediate device limit options for the users.""The solution is expensive as hell.""It needs backwards compatibility for non-Microsoft-supported operating systems, for example, XP and 2003. In situations where I have no options but to run older operating systems, I would like for it to be backwards compatible.""It's not really a true RMM product but more of just a remote access.""File transfer on the free version needs improvement. Allow file transfer with drag and drop to and from Remote Desktop. "

  • "It really is an expensive product for me."
  • "Pricing is a little on the expensive side, compared to what TeamViewer has offered."

  • "The price is a little high but it's competitive. The licensing process is fairly easy."
  • "It's probably worth the value, but the price increases over the last five years are getting harder to justify."
  • "We went with it for pricing reasons, that it was the biggest bang for our buck, by combining the ability to have a central security console, as well as a central point for user administration."
