We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"What I like best about Blue Prism Cloud is that it's secure, robust, and has 24 x 7 support available. I also find the solution quick and intelligent. Even a non-coder can easily use it.""It’s scalable.""The most valuable feature of a non-programmer is diagrams. Someone from an IT background can find it easier to start automation.""The technical support team of Blue Prism Cloud is very good...I rate the support a ten out of ten.""There is no latency in the product.""We can save on staff costs by automating processes.""Blue Prism Cloud is a stable solution.""It's easy to use, the interface, the the the the queries is which we use. It's user friendly."

"To build automation using UiPath is fairly simple. The studio is quite easy to use. Even now, with the community edition, it’s great.""The UiPath website has a lot of information and the Academy offers a lot of courses. I heard from different people in different industries and markets that this is the best solution. It's worth a try. There is more work in the beginning when you are getting it set up. But there are a lot of benefits, and you don't have to wait months and months to see them. You can start seeing the benefits early on.""Valuable features include rapid development and the scale of solution. The most valuable feature would be accuracy: The ability to perform the same job accurately and consistently.""UiPath Document Understanding and Task Mining are valuable features.""Orchestrator has a lot of good features including the configuration, the queues, the transaction reporting, the logs, and accessibility.""It's helped us minimize our on-premises footprint.""I like the interface. It's simple to interact with. We can replicate and multiply the robots when we need to change something.""The solution has freed up employee time. It depends on the process, however, if I had to take an average, it is probably freeing up one full-time person, which is eight hours. On a monthly basis, around 150 hours are saved for a medium process."

Cons
"The product’s licensing cost is expensive compared to other tools in the market.""I would like to see a web-based control room, rather than the one that is in-built with the desktop version.""Blue Prism Cloud needs to improve support, though documentation is available online. It is not detailed, which does not help.""Blue Prism could be more efficient in its resource use. Having one LPR agent per virtual machine wastes resources. If we could execute many applications at the same time, it would improve and optimize the resource used.""The cost is a bit high. Other tools are much cheaper.""There are a few smart services that are not available in Blue Prism. For example, Excel sheets that are converted into a CS sheet have limitations with the number of columns when imported. This could be improved.""Several things need improvement, like ease-of-use, adding tended robots, adding process recording, and updating the look and feel so it seems modern.""Lacking advance features like CIO and optical character recognition"

More Blue Prism Cloud Cons →

"There are instances when the introduction of new features or concepts can be a bit overwhelming for users.""The document understanding has room for improvement. The handwritten documents need to be optimized further on the OCR extraction, making sure that we extract accuracy above 80% because we do see a lot of failure rates when it comes to handwritten documents.""There were a couple of times with the on-premises version that there were complications, since it is not on UiPath's cloud. We have had a lot of complications where we are dead in water. There were a couple of conditions where we weren't able to get someone up to speed on whatever. The support is not as quick to respond as we had hoped.""It could use an easy integration with SAP. Most of the processes of our company are in SAP. Sometimes it's kind of tricky to automate over it.""I'm not sure if UiPath completely supports Slack automation. I've seen tutorials that show you can automate in Slack, however, I've had some real problems with the process.""With all the different tools that they have in their arsenal, sometimes it's hard to know how we can get the most out of them.""There is room for improvement in browser automation, particularly regarding access and success rates.""You can't write small snippets of code. If you want to do a single code snippet, this is not available by default."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Pricing can be negotiated in situations where there will be heavy usage."

  • "There are many RPA solutions available from different vendors and the pricing for Blue Prism is competitive."
  • "Annual licensing costs were somewhere between $5,000 - $10,000 for the development tool. For the control tower, I think fees were about $50,000 annually."
  • "This solution comes at a medium to high price point. They need to work on their pricing to enable smaller enterprises to get the benefit of using the product."
  • "When compared with UiPath, I believe it will be difficult for Blue Prism to maintain its market share."
  • "Blue Prism comes at a higher price point compared to other solutions on the market."

  • "Traditionally, Automation Anywhere and Blue Prism are the biggest things competing against UiPath. Those are usually what most of the clients lean towards, if they see a cheaper licensing option. Clients choose UiPath because it's easier to deploy and learn within their teams."
  • "We saw ROI in 15 days."
  • "They give it away in the community edition for free, so I use it at home."
