We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It was very smooth and very seamless to create automations.""The tech support is highly available and there is plenty of online training available.""We have a very large operational team and we are able to avoid mistakes and ensure accuracy and speed using Pega.""The solution's ability to create adapters quickly is its most valuable feature.""The workflow system is very intuitive.""The initial setup is pretty easy and quite fast.""It is a good and matured solution.""Using the tool actually ends up teaching you about making workflows more efficient."

"The UiPath community has been great. There are a lot of great mentorships, a lot of forums, and a lot of people who are very interested in growing the community. It's been very nice to work with them. Anybody who is in UiPath has been an amazing partner for us.""UiPath has helped reduce human error. We are working with clients where it is very important to provide them their necessary services. We are a telecom company, so we are providing activation of numbers, etc. If people are doing this manually, it can cause inconveniences for our clients, but it might also put the reputation at stake. For example, because when people do it manually, they can send out the wrong invoice. This is a huge reputation risk, because sometimes we are working not only with just a person, but with a business. When we work with other companies, it is important to do things accurately. When the robots do things, there is almost a 100% probability that they won't make any mistakes, like typos.""The tool's most valuable features are document processing and AI Center.""Since implementing UiPath, it has saved our clients a lot of time.""UiPath is great for desktop automation because it integrates well with applications and we are able to tailor selectors to our needs.""Those who do not have a programming background and want to understand how UiPath works can go to the UiPath portal to get free training. They can train themselves as a business analyst, a developer, or an automation developer. The training system is good.""It enables us to implement end-to-end automation. We have projects where it automates the entire process from one end to the other. Very often we have "human-in-the-loop" within them, because some decisions have to be made, but they are almost end-to-end solutions.""The pricing is fairly decent."

Cons
"The new players such as UiPath and ABBYY are moving very quickly, but Pega is not. I'd definitely like to see Pega doing a few more interesting things on the AI or machine learning front so that we can use the platform for multiple things.""I would like to see an enhanced auditing feature included.""Pega has a no-code low-code environment. We do everything based on established rules. You kind-of have to learn how all their rules work and how it works for robotics before you can use the solution effectively.""The OCR capabilities of the solution could be improved.""I feel like it doesn't get updated frequently enough. There aren't a lot of new features or a clear roadmap for future improvements.""Pega Robotic Process Automation can improve the OGR area. You don't have a feature to read documents in computer voices.""Pega Robotic Process Automation scalability is too low.""I would like to improve the tool's integration features and stability."

"I'm learning it for the training for the RPA associate, and I'm about 70% through there. UiPath's academy courses have been helpful in onboarding or being up to speed with UiPath. However, it has been tougher because the programming that I learned in school is very different from the programming done today. I am sure the younger people will pick it up much faster. There is so much out there, and there is so much to learn because it is not one software package. It provides the ability to use all software packages and interconnect with them. So, the opportunities are amazing but also intimidating.""The tool has some bugs, and it doesn’t respond sometimes.""One area for improvement is connected to the fact that it's completely based on Visual Basic .NET and C# languages. I would like to see some more basic activities that are particular to the VB.NET code, as well as activities based on LINQ queries because that is one of the fastest and most integrated languages. I would like to see pre-written activities so that we could simply drag and drop them into place and use them frequently.""There is a very steep learning curve for business users.""Sometimes we get some disconnection issues. This happens maybe 10% of the time.""The implementations or integrations through Citrix are really good. The only problem that we are coming across is just maintenance. If the Citrix platform gets updated and we're not notified, it breaks. So, we have to reconfigure our bot to the new updates. Unfortunately, that's just the name of the game, and that would be true if we were pulling them manually versus a bot.""I would really like to see the package deployment updated. As it is right now, if you want to update something, you have to take down the latest code, sync the packages and re-upload everything back through dev test to prod.""Active Roles works with policies and access templates, as well as workflows, which are really powerful. While it comes with a lot of example policies and access templates, there are zero built-in workflows."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "I was not involved in licensing and pricing, but it is worth the cost."
  • "Pega is pretty costly."
  • "Pega Robotic Process Automation is an expensive solution."
  • "In terms of Pega Robotic Process Automation pricing, I would rate it a five out of five because the solution has a good price. Pricing is not very high, though I'm unsure of the exact cost, based on my experience, the price for Pega Robotic Process Automation is less than Blue Prism because I worked with a few clients that have both solutions and my clients prefer Pega Robotic Process Automation over Blue Prism particularly because of the licensing costs."
  • "Pega is as competitive as the basic players such as UiPath or Automation Anywhere. UiPath is the most expensive, but Pega is at par with Automation Anywhere."
  • "I would rate the product's pricing a nine out of ten."
  • "The licensing cost is too high."

  • "If you want to do a demo trial, it is a 30 days free."
  • "The community edition is completely free. Then, people say, "There is nothing to lose, let me try it.""
  • "There are operational benefits in terms of time savings and user satisfaction of not having to do menial, repetitive tasks."
  • "Traditionally, Automation Anywhere and Blue Prism are the biggest things competing against UiPath. Those are usually what most of the clients lean towards, if they see a cheaper licensing option. Clients choose UiPath because it's easier to deploy and learn within their teams."
  • "We saw ROI in 15 days."
  • "They give it away in the community edition for free, so I use it at home."
