We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"What I like most in IBM Public Cloud is how easy it is to create serverless functions. They are called IBM functions, but in AWS, they are called Lambda functions. Those are pretty standard, and another thing I like the most is that you have fewer restrictions on the amount of data you can transfer across those functions. IBM Public Cloud is way more flexible than AWS. I also like that IBM Public Cloud is pretty straightforward to integrate. As long as you have all the tools IBM provides you, getting everything up and running is straightforward.""It is a scalable product. You can scale it up and down.""The beauty of cloud service providers, especially public cloud service providers, is that they are scalable every time when you need them because their payment model is pay-as-you-go.""It is easy to deploy what you need for the initial setup""The most valuable feature of IBM Public Cloud is the AI integrations.""An advantage of IBM Public Cloud is the bare metal server. We can take the bare metal server. It's not shared with anyone. We can deploy our applications without sharing them with anyone. That is an advantage of IBM Public Cloud.""I've found the stability to be excellent. The performance is good.""For non-complex applications, the IBM Cloud works fine and the price is much lower than the competitors."

"The most valuable feature of this solution is the high level of performance for the databases.""Initial setup of databases is not a problem.""We use Oracle Cloud to host the OIC (Oracle Integration Cloud Service) and APEX.""I head the sales and marketing team. So, specifically on the feature set side, multi-tenancy is the one that I'm most familiar with. It's also the one that we found to be the most beneficial to us because it allows us to take clients that have multiple sites. For instance, one of our larger clients, which is a bank based out of South Africa, has offices in multiple countries. It allows us to multi-tenant each and create a tenant for each country within multi-tenanted architecture.""The most valuable feature is the monitoring.""Apart from the licensing, there's support from Oracle Cloud Platform which improved our day to day operations. Time is reduced. Based on this service, we are able to scale up dependent applications as quickly as we can.""The features allow you to connect the service solutions with the client's requirements. It is user-friendly, easy to navigate and provides assistance.""I find the Single Sign-On, SSO, feature to be valuable."

Cons
"I would like to see a more user-friendly deployment process in the next release of this solution.""The solution needs to be more autonomous. It should let the DL go to allow for more jobs on the cloud. It could have a better interface as well.""Recently, we just faced some issues with the operating system due to the end of life of CentOS 6...So, then the client wanted to try it out under AWS instead of IBM. In short, it has some complexities.""Normally, for any cloud, we get a lot of information on the web, but that is missing in the case of IBM Public Cloud. We need some technical support documents. That is the only thing missing in IBM Public Cloud.""They could improve on customizing reporting capabilities.""The initial setup and the pricing are areas that need improvement.""The solution’s pricing could be improved.""An area for improvement in IBM Public Cloud is getting up-to-date information on how to set up everything. It's hard to find new documentation."

More IBM Public Cloud Cons →

"Technical support does not offer the best service and should be improved.""I would like the Oracle Cloud Platform to have a more user-friendly UI similar to Microsoft Azure.""The Oracle Cloud platform remains complex, and despite the abundance of resources available, significant challenges can still arise during the migration process from a legacy or on-premise system. Conversely, smaller companies with less complicated systems, such as those with a two million budget, can migrate more easily.""The AI capabilities and the power automate platform that Azure is offering seem to be way ahead of what Oracle is offering.""Oracle Cloud's price is very high.""There's one app I have to install on my device, the Articulate Player app. It's only available on Apple and Android, but it's not available for Windows. I can't run the program on my desktop, to use it to learn Java.""The product's resilience is an area of concern where improvements are required.""Managed services for Postgres are not available in Oracle Cloud."

Build and run cloud native or third-party apps with open source tools

Modern enterprises deserve the flexibility and freedom to choose from the various frameworks, clouds, and services available. Be it Postgres, SQL Server, Windows Server, VMware, or Kubernetes, OCI services are designed to easily run third-party, open source applications or to build cloud native applications. Our broad open source partner ecosystem enables you to bring apps to market faster, easily innovate, and scale.
