We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"We can manage the entire system across the network and troubleshoot the pain points.""The single dashboard is a valuable feature."

"The solution offers very good integration capabilities.""It helps us a lot for monitoring our servers in one console, instead of going to individual servers.""The dashboard, versatility and larger horizon are valuable.""The solution's most valuable feature is its ability to reach most of our network devices and get the most from them.""We don't have to keep an eye on it; it has a good automation option, which keeps us informed. It gives very less false positives. Overall, a really great product.""The most valuable feature of ManageEngine OpManager makes it easy to monitor all the network alerts on the application.""Flexibility in the two view dashboard helps viewers and admins get the information they need about the fetwork in a flash.""The alerting feature has improved our organization. We can create multiple alerts and refine them to how we need to use them."

Cons
"The Wi-Fi side needs improvement.""The technical support needs improvement."

More Juniper Mist Premium Analytics Cons →

"We encounter challenges in monitoring cloud services. I would also appreciate it if there was someone available to walk you through the documentation.""We would like link monitoring included. At times we need to monitor those specific links closely.""OpManager is slow but that just might be the server we have it on. I don't think that's the problem but I don't do the server. But it is slow. When you're interacting with it, it could be more nimble and could be faster.""You cannot resolve 100 percent of the issues yourself. You would need to reach out to the support. It needs to be cheaper.""With regard to configurations, however, it would be nice to have more documentation on SNMP configurations. For example, if I want to add a new vendor, it would be great if ManageEngine provided the requirements for that vendor, such as the commands needed.""The dashboard could include more features.""This product is little bit slow sometimes. It may be that we need to change the configuration to improve performance.""They should add more features to URL monitoring."

More ManageEngine OpManager Cons →

"I want Zabbix to improve the UX/UI. Zabbix doesn't use a JavaScript chart for images, and I want them to improve this.""Zabbix isn't a great tool for cloud-specific monitoring - its connection to public clouds needs to be improved. Other areas for improvement would be the lack of dashboards and integrations.""I would like to see a more flexible mobile client, and better HA out of the box.""To improve Zabbix, adding more features to support the monitoring of modern workloads like containers would be beneficial.""An area for improvement would be the ease of doing aggregation from the value or different devices.""Zabbix is powerful, but it is difficult to understand initially. There are many things that can be improved, but we might not be using Zabbix to its fullest extent. The software has more features than we need.""Documentation terminology could be improved.""The user interface could be better."

I have researched a quite a few network monitoring tools which can be used for various monitoring purposes of not only the servers, but the intermediate routers as well. There are majorly three types of these softwares. Ones which are completely open-source, you can do almost anything you want using these, but they require quite some expertise before you can use them. Then there are the ones that are not open source, the enterprise softwares and cost you some money, but on the other hand, they are extremely easy to set-up and learn. You can have them up and running in a matter of minutes. And then there are those which are completely cloud based. They can be free of cost or charge some money depending on the software. The good thing about these is that you don’t have to install any extra software, and it can be managed completely online but then again these have limited features and you cannot exploit them to the full extent as you can do with the open-source and to some extent the enterprise software, so I won’t suggest you to use these, because these are generally not the complete solutions and require other support software to achieve the same. Below I have listed the outstanding pros and cons of the various Network analyzers that you can look into Nagios Pros: Nagios offers an extensive set of collector plug-ins that allows users to gather performance and availability data from a broad range of operating systems, including  Windows and Netware Nagios… Read more →
