We performed a comparison between New Relic and ServiceNow IT Operations Management based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two IT Infrastructure Monitoring solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The most valuable feature is the ability to receive in-depth information about applications. It can detect a lot of important information."
"You don't have to go through a list of 500 servers."
"The synthetics, alerts, and native inbuilt capabilities for monitoring the cloud with the New Relic agents have been helpful."
"The simplicity of the dashboard is very good."
"It has helped us maintain a much higher uptime than we had previously."
"We like the performance of the product."
"We detect issues using dashboards that we built on New Relic."
"The solution is quite stable."
"ITOM communicates information about incidents and maintains them. It handles tickets change, manages service networks, and reduces IT service downtime for the organization."
"It has been very useful for tracking. It has evolved a lot over time, and there is a single pane of glass where you can track and see everything."
"Provides everything in one solution."
"The most important features of ServiceNow IT Operations Management are the discovery service mapping and orchestration."
"The asset management tools are very valuable."
"The auto remediation feature has been most valuable. They have also introduced an AOP feature of ServiceNow that we are keen to explore."
"From my perspective as an asset manager, the most valuable feature of the solution is the configuration management portion, where I can actively add something to the database."
"You can improve integrations of the operation with the solution."
"They don't have an opportunity to share the dashboard with the public. If you want to share it with stakeholders or people outside the organization who just want to have a look at a couple of metrics, you can't do that without onboarding them to the product itself."
"The customization of the start and end time is kind of cool."
"It is a serious tool and requires a lot of time invested in order to understand how it works."
"Data Dog captures the entire session and then provides it as a video player path, which gives more insight into what the user was doing. It's pretty impressive. New Relic does that, yet it only captures using a couple of screenshots, which is not very detailed since you are unable to see the entire user flow."
"The price could improve."
"One thing that we noticed was that historical information was only for a limited period, which was not helpful in certain scenarios. For example, if I want to size my system for an event for New Year or Christmas season based on the historical data, I won't be able to find the historical data. Currently, the data is limited to three months. It would be helpful if they can provide historical data for a longer duration so that we can plan our system accordingly."
"New Relic APM can improve the information when we dig deeper to check a problem. There should be more detailed information provided."
"The UX/UI design of New Relic APM could be improved. The solution currently has some slow pages in terms of loading and viewing the pages, for example, the reports. The reports and other pages take a long time to load."
"An area for improvement for ServiceNow IT Operations Management is making service mapping and discovery easier for non-IP devices."
"The setup and deployment could be simplified, and the pricing could improve."
"There are some limitations with Discovery; some areas are not available in the installation. I would like the solution to be able to discover more devices. That will remove the need to have multiple tools."
"The solution’s licensing cost could be improved."
"Service Mapping is a time-consuming process. The time and effort versus the benefits are very difficult to articulate to customers."
"Regarding ServiceNow, there is room for improvement in terms of customization, particularly in the area of self-customization."
"The pattern part can be improved. Patterns are used in the Discovery feature. Although it is easy to create new patterns and modify the existing ones, it would be better if this solution can have more out-of-the-box patterns. In terms of new features, they can include artificial intelligence, something like machine learning."
"I would like more manual issues to have automated report-facing options."
