Q&A Highlights
Question: Can I move Salesforce to Cloud Foundry without refactoring?
Answer: Salesforce Applications are developed in a low-code proprietary environment (i.e. a "comfortable/productive/expensive walled garden"). Cloud foundry is made to work with open-source apps/code (which is a completely different approach to software development). I don't know of any tools that could help you in this process and the most likely scenario is a complete refactoring of the Salesforce apps. If your problem is cost, there are ways to reduce licensing costs (negotiation with salesforce, changing the user types, make some functionality available in force.com sites, community portals, data integration with external apps, etc.).

It keeps everything on one interface, facilitating the operations and planning.""Its stability, performance, and usability are most valuable.""The most valuable features are quick customization, solid deployment processes, and excellent reliability.""The queue management of the solution is its most valuable aspect.""The most valuable feature is ease of use.""The keyword search helps me in finding stuff quickly. So, I don't have to click around a lot.""The scalability of the Salesforce Platform is good."

"The most valuable features of Salesforce Sales Cloud are opportunity management and metric integration.""There is a ton of information on the dashboard. Reports are also there for us. We can analyze information across the team and across a period, such as quarterly or annually.""There are many extremely useful features.""You can adapt Salesforce for all customer needs.""Salesforce helps up keep track of candidates.""One of the most valuable features is the automation of Sales Cloud. It gives us the ability to easily—without the use of coding—create automation in order for us to do our work a lot more efficiently, whether it's notification reminders or certain automatic processes. There are a lot of things that Sales Cloud can do that, in my opinion, make everyone's jobs a whole lot easier and give them the visibility they need when they require it, when talking to customers and prospecting. It makes the account management process easier as well.""We use workflows for sales flows and various automation, such as assignment rules and validations provided by Salesforce. When out-of-the-box solutions aren't enough, we delve into coding, utilizing synchronous and asynchronous methods. Additionally, we employ tools like lightning components.""The automation of Salesforce Sales Cloud makes the process very easier to focus on leads and converts them automatically to accounts, contacts, and opportunities."

Cons
"It's all set up for us in a way that establishes our account. We need to tag ourselves to opportunities. You have to tag yourself to the opportunity manually; you need to find it yourself and tag it.""I think the search needs to be improved so as to allow for a broader keyword search.""I don't have any notes for improvement. It serves us well.""Salesforce is a pretty cumbersome product. It's a product that you need to spend quite a bit of time customizing to your unique business model. Unless you have somebody in house that knows it really well, you're better off spending money with a consultant to get what you need.""I would like to see the organizational details improved to make it less difficult to bring new clients on board.""Salesforce introduces a lot of products and sometimes rebrands them, causing confusion. They acquire products like W and retain their names, creating confusion in the market. This confusion isn't related to the product's functionality but rather its positioning and rebranding. For instance, what was once known as Community Cloud is now referred to as Experience Cloud. This can be confusing for business leaders.""It could be maybe a bit more user-intuitive.""Salesforce Platform could improve the UI and the responsiveness of their servers. The UI needs to be made user-friendly for all users."

More Salesforce Platform Cons →

"The solution can be difficult to understand for customers of Salesforce.""The cost of this solution could be improved.""One aspect I find challenging with Salesforce Sales Cloud is its forecasting feature. While it's useful for analyzing sales data and predicting future revenue, I've encountered instances where the outcomes weren't as perfect as expected.""The product is not stable when enhancements are done to the cloud.""CI/CD is the biggest room for improvement. Deployment between environments and configuration.""Sales Cloud could improve in areas such as AI integration, particularly for templates.""The reporting formats could be better.""The solution could improve the partner management and communities. For the enterprise licenses, we have the help, but it should also be extended with the features to the partner community."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Costly, but it is the top product in SaaS/PaaS. Pricing is more for large to enterprise level companies."
  • "Pricing and license differ and depend on how much license you are purchasing from them."
  • "It is an expensive program."
  • "The licensing is per user per month, which we took out a contract on a long time back. It's really an okay price for what solutions are available and for how many features and what kind of functionality you get."
  • "The solution is a bit expensive."
  • "It is expensive. Licensing is on an annual basis."
  • "It is quite expensive. Its developers come at a premium cost, which makes it expensive."
  • "It is expensive."
  • More Salesforce Platform Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "The subscription is on a monthly basis."
  • "The main issue is the price. Because it's SaaS, you will have to pay on a monthly or yearly basis."
  • "It is a premium product, so it is not the cheapest solution. I think if it's implemented well, and you're getting the soft cost benefits, the efficiencies, it's justified. But not if you're looking at just apples for apples as a subscription, without the complexity that you can achieve. It can deal with complex business requirements. Some other CRMs can't. But you certainly pay, so it's a premium-charged solution. It's one of the more expensive ones."
  • "I have found Salesforce Sales Cloud to be expensive. However, it is the number one CRM solution in the world. It is worth the money."
  • "The main thing is it is costly. Salesforce it is not cheap, it's costly. Some of our customers say it is a costly solution. So, we have lost some sale opportunities regarding the high price. This is the main thing that we are facing. It is sales per user and the user price is about $150 per month, per user for the Enterprise Edition. The other edition is less than this, but it is costly. A company that has 70 or 80 users would pay more than $8,000 USD yearly because it is cloud based."
  • "My understanding is that Salesforce is a little bit expensive, but in terms of the efficiencies, automation, and visibility, I think it's definitely value for money."
  • "Implementation and add-ons may be additional costs."
  • "Being license based, the license varies by type. The pricing is considered average."
