Find out in this report how the two Patch Management solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."It has plugins development options, which are great."
"It's enabled us to have a highly successful endpoint patching program for the past decade. It's been enormously successful there. It's also become a core part of many of our business processes, from compliance monitoring of endpoints, encryption management, key escrow, and local administrator password escrow. It's built into our inventory. It's very much everywhere."
"The use of fast query has been extremely valuable providing insight in real time of the endpoints."
"Vulnerability scanning and patch automation."
"BigFix helped us to identify the compliance of devices and has also improved the way that we manage our software inventory for reporting to vendors."
"Desktop patching is the most valuable feature, because with servers, we have complete control over them, and we can simply push patches to the servers."
"I like the inventory and life cycle management feature."
"BigFix has always been easier to use when managing servers, especially when you deal with so many servers. We have 7,000. That's a lot of services to manage, and it's convenient to patch them all at once."
"Being able to connect to client computers without them necessarily needing to be there and being able to put in the patches and manage different information systems is valuable."
"The product's support team is very quick to respond, especially because the tool's technical team operates in the same time zone where I am located."
"The patch management and the remote support are very good, especially the remote support. There is a module built into the solution which allows remote control without necessarily interrupting the user. We could manage things in the background without them seeing or interacting with anything, which is a very useful feature."
"The most valuable piece of the puzzle for me is what they call Live Connect. It is the piece that allows you to support an end-user without having to take the keyboard and mouse."
"The most valuable feature of Kaseya VSA is the ability to control laptops remotely."
"The most valuable features of the solution are its ability to offer control remotely to its users and provide patching capabilities to users."
"The remote support is the most valuable aspect of the solution."
"I like the Live Connect module provided by Kaseya. It is a powerful module. I also like the Agent Procedure module. We work with it most of the time."
"The solution should have some kind of a local caching methodology, where the patches can be taken locally into a localized relay server, and from there, the patch can be applied, so that there is not much usage of the network required."
"The product should become cloud-based. Also, the peer nesting ability of the product is a little backward."
"I would like to see more custom content."
"I would request them to build a robots, or an easier way for integration with the other tools, like ITSM tools."
"I would like to see improvements in the Web UI program and also a BigFix console for Mac OS."
"Sometimes the workstations communicate back to the BigFix server two or three days in a week or something similar. Sometimes there can be a delay reporting back to the server for a variety of reasons, such as users turning their computer off when they go home. When the user comes back and turns the computer back on BigFix needs to synchronize and sometimes it can take some time, approximately one week. The communication between the agent and the server should be faster, there is room for improvement in this area."
"The stability is generally pretty good. The one thing that we came across is the battle between load on endpoints and load on our servers and relays versus how quickly, effectively and reliably actions can be taken. I'd like to not have to take an action on a system while I'm working with someone and then have to say whether something will happen between five seconds or thirty minutes from that point."
"The product is quite buggy and complicated to use."
"It never functioned as intended."
"There is room for improvement in the remote control strengths."
"The agent-based monitoring solution can be improved."
"I have been looking for a way to deploy patches via the internet to selected equipment from Kaseya VSA, but it seems impossible."
"The response to bugs is slow and software improvement comes slowly too. The lack of response to our feature requests made it feel like they were going into a black hole. Additionally, when we encountered bugs or issues with the VSA, they were slow to respond to those too."
"Sometimes, the product misinterprets the functionality of a machine."
"I believe we should include a VSA license to provide complete endpoint management."
"The way it is laid out can be improved. If it could be a little more intuitive, it might be a little bit easier. Sometimes, it is hard to find features because they're called something weird, or they're in an interesting location that you wouldn't have thought that they'd be in."
