We performed a comparison between AutoSys Workload Automation and BigFix based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out what your peers are saying about BMC, Tidal Software by Redwood, Redwood Software and others in Workload Automation."It can run an object on our Windows systems or our Unix systems, and then send messages to the other system when they are complete."
"Running anything in crontab, you need to put a lot of logic into it to make it work. With this product, you don't have to worry about it. You have the schedule object where you put all the dates or holidays in it, and it does it for you."
"It has allowed us to automate many of the functions of our operations staff. For instance, we had production control staff spending two hours a day entering date parms into our daily business processes. And now, CA Workload Automation does it for us."
"This solution enables us to improve our daily processing times. We can do everything faster than before we used this solution."
"AutoSys Workload Automation is a stable solution."
"The aggregator reporting utility which tells us our throughput in lag and latency."
"The most valuable features of AutoSys Workload Automation are the file transfer protocol and file watcher. The solution has a user-friendly user interface. It is very simple to use. You have a scope of all your jobs, jobs are what you call tasks that you will automate in the solution. It lets you monitor everything in these jobs."
"CA Workload Automation AutoSys Edition is one of the most powerful schedulers that you have on the open systems, or going between Window servers; to be able to schedule and take advantage of the different powers that the automation has with it."
"The most valuable feature of BigFix is the software deployment."
"We are able to use BigFix through API connections to automate and reduce resources and time. The product's been great for us. It's increased the security posture ten-fold and it's increased our visibility across our endpoints enormously."
"Ability to run custom reports and custom relevance."
"Servers are patched more consistently than they have been previously."
"My company provides support services to a lot of customers and companies. We have reduced a huge amount of man-effort. Along with the man-effort, we have reduced the timeline to fix the compliance and security gaps. We have an unbroken record. The documentation clearly says that we have done the patching of newly released patches, including Microsoft and third-party patches, in up to 80% of the computers, within 72 hours of the release of the production. That was a very massive benefit that we have seen. When I talk about the 80% endpoints, it is 100 or 200. I am talking about 25,000 endpoints."
"The most valuable feature is the patching."
"The patch management and the BigFix Inventory have been the most valuable features."
"The most valuable feature is patch management, a must have, even for Linux and iOS."
"Reduce the number of operational files. This would make the job of a system programmer supporting ESP easier."
"There is a difference between a web interface and the thick client interface. We particularly like a thick client interface, and it has gone away."
"Documentation and cross-application externals could be improved."
"I would like to see two-factor authentication, since you see a lot of companies in the news for security breaches. That is a really big thing for us."
"It would be helpful to be able to monitor and manage workload windows so we could minimize downstream applications. This would allow us easier access to the applications."
"Performance improvements in the UI would be appreciated."
"CA Workload Automation is not part of CA's strategic vision going forward."
"This product needs to improve its graphical user interface."
"I would like to see improvements in the Web UI program and also a BigFix console for Mac OS."
"They need better integration."
"We need a much better multi-tenant option."
"I would like to see more integration with external data."
"The solution could improve by adding support drivers for different systems and equipment. When you have a lot of different computers if they could fix how to install any updates, firmware, or drivers for different systems or servers it would be good."
"The reporting and dashboard parts have room for improvement."
"The only thing that I don't like about BigFix is that it does not support other devices such as printer firmware, router firmware, and things like that. I will be happy if I can control everything and get everything else in there, even if it is just a line item. They can do some enhancements to the Web UI. I am trying to get customers to be able to manage their environment by using Web UI, and it would be good if we can delete endpoints by using Web UI. We should also be able to generate Excel content or data tables from the Web UI without having to go to the console. It is small stuff, and it drives me crazy that I have to go to another console to do these things."
"The remote software installation could be better."
