We performed a comparison between Azure Data Factory and Mule Anypoint Platform based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Data Integration solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."ADF is another ETL tool similar to Informatica that can transform data or copy it from on-prem to the cloud or vice versa. Once we have the data, we can apply various transformations to it and schedule our pipeline according to our business needs. ADF integrates with Databricks. We can call our Databricks notebooks and schedule them via ADF."
"We haven't had any issues connecting it to other products."
"I like how you can create your own pipeline in your space and reuse those creations. You can collaborate with other people who want to use your code."
"For me, it was that there are dedicated connectors for different targets or sources, different data sources. For example, there is direct connector to Salesforce, Oracle Service Cloud, etcetera, and that was really helpful."
"When it comes to our business requirements, this solution has worked well for us. However, we have not stretched it to the limit."
"Azure Data Factory became more user-friendly when data-flows were introduced."
"The data factory agent is quite good and programming or defining the value of jobs, processes, and activities is easy."
"UI is easy to navigate and I can retrieve VTL code without knowing in-depth coding languages."
"We are very satisfied with the DevOps support."
"The most valuable features of the Mule Anypoint Platform are the Flex Gateway, API management, easy-to-use, and connectors. Additionally, they are coming out with improvements to the solution when required."
"The ability to define multi-tiered APIs and reuse them is a fantastic platform feature."
"The API toolkit is the solution's most valuable aspect at this time, for our organization."
"The most valuable feature of Mule Anypoint Platform is rapid development."
"Mule Anypoint Platform's valuable features are its flexibility in terms of deployment and its SaaS capabilities."
"The solution's market place for different kinds of integration platforms is the most valuable feature."
"The product is very user-friendly."
"A room for improvement in Azure Data Factory is its speed. Parallelization also needs improvement."
"They require more detailed error reporting, data normalization tools, easier connectivity to other services, more data services, and greater compatibility with other commonly used schemas."
"Data Factory would be improved if it were a little more configuration-oriented and not so code-oriented and if it had more automated features."
"The solution can be improved by decreasing the warmup time which currently can take up to five minutes."
"I have not found any real shortcomings within the product."
"The solution should offer better integration with Azure machine learning. We should be able to embed the cognitive services from Microsoft, for example as a web API. It should allow us to embed Azure machine learning in a more user-friendly way."
"There is no built-in function for automatically adding notifications concerning the progress or outline of a pipeline run."
"It would be better if it had machine learning capabilities."
"The runtime management and connectors could use some work and are vulnerable to breakage after upgrades."
"An on-premise setup requires special skills and you need a lot of professional services."
"It has different types of subscriptions. For platinum or lower subscriptions, there are not too many things that can be done. We don't see many features. They should release a basic version that has logging and monitoring features. These features should come with Mule Anypoint Platform for free instead of making customers pay separately for these features. Its dashboard can be improved to have a lot of charts so that it is easy to visualize information. The utilization part can be improved. The dashboard is good currently, but it can be better. Other solutions like Elastic have a good dashboard, and they allow you to administer the product from the UI. Currently, for RTF, there is a different dashboard or utility. It would be good to include the same utility in the cloud solution. It would be good if there is a centralized repository that includes the links to the information about various troubleshooting issues. The documentation is there currently, and it is good, but the troubleshooting information is too scattered. We have to go to different links to find troubleshooting information. This kind of centralized repository would be helpful for new customers who are implementing this solution. It will be helpful to see different kinds of issues that can occur."
"The solution's pricing model is very strange, and it will be really expensive if you use APIs a lot."
"We would like an entire DevOps in place in this particular solution."
"Lacks intelligent management data and intelligent mappings."
"What I hear from my customers is that it's very expensive compared to the cost of other integration suites. The cost keeps increasing. MuleSoft should come up with customization factors by using a different way of getting the cost-related stuff to attract customers. That is, they should come up with some cost optimizations."
"Price-wise, it is a good product since it is reasonably priced...Mule Anypoint Platform can get too complex for non-technical people."
