We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Acronis has a very rich functionality.""The image backup and image restore features have been very beneficial to us.""From my perspective, the most valuable features in Acronis Cyber Protect include ransomware protection and antivirus. These features not only add significant value but also play a crucial role in closing deals. When selling backup for Microsoft 365, these security features, like ransomware protection and antivirus, serve as a starting point to offer backup and protection.""The best thing about it is that we can back up pretty much everything we want to. We don't have to have multiple solutions. It can back up any physical or virtual server, including servers in Azure. It can back up SharePoint, OneDrive, and G Suite. Everything we need to back up can be backed up, and that's why we like it.""I've reimaged servers and been back up and running in exactly no time with the completely new hardware.""It has simple buying options and deployments. You can buy on-cloud, on-premises, or hybrid solutions. Acronis Backup is very easy to deploy. It also does not consume much hardware. The administrator's tasks are very simple. It is very user friendly, and it also has good security features with low-level encryption and data encryption.""Acronis has many features, which are really very interesting, when it comes to data backup and recovery, especially disaster recovery (DR).""The performance has been fine so far."

"Code42 Next-Gen DLP is scalable.""t has a very user friendly status bar with common errors and has logs built in to the console so we can review the issues or status of CrashPlan.""Risk factors can be adjusted for all intricate details.""Low system overhead, setting retention policies, ease of use""Works in the background and users are able to perform restores.""It had the ability to preseed by sending in a data drive and could restore by sending the user a data drive.""It has quite a bit of flexibility in configuring backup sets.""There are a couple of things. One of them is that they have what they call Incydr. Their detection and response solution to the insider threat area is called Incydr. That gives visibility to the clients that have widely dispersed employee bases due to work from home, or that had a dispersed workforce predating any of the work from home requirements. Even though they might not be inside the organization physically, they're inside the organization. It allows us to get some visibility into what people are doing, what the context is, and how to control what might be the potential for intellectual property theft or file exposure."

Cons
"We have sometimes issues with the child copies and other similar functions, but it's normal with any backup solution. We need to fix those issues first in order for us to be able to do the backup properly.""This is not a feature-rich solution.""In some cases, at the time of reinstallation, some disasters happen. For the licensing on the computer the name of the computer and domain, everything is removed from the registry level. Then we have to install the Acronis from the start for it to work properly. Otherwise, the Acronis software will cause a lot of trouble at the time of reinstallation. That's where they need to improve the product. In the case people want to install the same software with the same hardware, it should not stop me.""We needed to have help from the vendor for implementation. The vendor used two personnel. We have system administrators and they do the server backups themself.""The product needs to have a simple DR process.""It could back up more things. I don't think it can back up Box and some of the other third-party ones. Not that we use them that much, but the more they can do, the better it would be. There could also be better integrations with RMM tools.""The initial setup was complex. We had to deploy it through an external consultant team.""I would like to see better centralized management, because I use it across multiple clients. To have a console that centrally manages them would be nice."

More Acronis Cyber Protect Cons →

"The application, written in Java, required far more system resources on a Client than other solutions.""What I think could be improved is how I get support.""In a couple of instances, we had a little bit of trouble in getting it distributed throughout the organization. We ultimately managed to do it, but they talk about it being a pretty simple process, and it became a little laborious. It would just turn away. The agents were not being distributed. It was just churning and churning and churning. When we were looking for specific categories of data, it was getting bogged down, but that was not even so much Code42, although some of it was their issue.""I think one we can improve is the compression.""More security would be nice, I would love to be able to remotely brick a stolen laptop and it's hard disk drive (HDD).""Reporting could use an overhaul. It is very limited.""There doesn't seem to be any feature that is lacking.""You can't always filter out data that you'd like to."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Doing what this is capable of doing, the cost of it is in line."
  • "Pricing is what it is. I don't shop around once I find a good solution. I insist they maintain ongoing support year after year for updates and tech support."
  • "I would say that at the pricepoint that it's at, it's definitely worth the money."
  • "It has already paid off itself in the first few months that we implemented it."
  • "When it comes to elements like cost, I think it is the only backup solution which has perpetual licenses, whereby you buy the license once and for all."
  • "I like the pricing, and that it is easy to use and has performed well. "
  • "Our licensing fees are on a yearly basis."
  • "The pricing is comparable to the newest solution available on the market, Altaro."

  • "They were the best solution and surprisingly enough, the cheapest."
  • "It is 100% worth the cost to get and keep the support, especially when setting it up."
  • "It used to be a good solution for SOHO in particular as it had unlimited storage for a reasonable price. However, their pricing model has changed and they are now primarily targeting enterprise users."
  • "The pricing is reasonable. It's my understanding that the cost is about $7 for unlimited storage in the cloud per server."
  • "It was expensive. It was more expensive than Eureka, and it was more expensive than Barracuda Backup, but what we got was a full team. They didn't come in and nickel and dime us. They provided the assistance we needed. They didn't say that they need to charge us for something or it is going to take another statement of work. It was all bundled into it... We pay for the software maintenance. It is probably 18% or 20% of the license fee for rev releases."
