Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The solution is stable and reliable.""I have everything I need in the backup or in the partition. ""Acronis Backup is valuable if your data is affected by ransomware, you are able to get it back.""The pricing is fine.""It's a good solution that's very easy to use. Acronis has two valuable features. The first one is creating images, and the other is starting virtual machines in the cloud so the client can work immediately.""The solution has all the features I need and user friendly.""The performance has been fine so far.""Acronis has a very rich functionality."

"The solution is really very stable. One good thing about it, compared to other products, is that you can just run it and forget about it. Unless you come across some interruptions in the network, it works like a charm.""We have not encountered any major challenges with replication. We were able to achieve near-real-time replication. Also, with the switchover failover, we were not getting any technical issues. It's a pretty stable product.""If you have a problem with your primary site and can't access your primary database, you can continue working with the database that you have as standby on the other site, by changing its role to primary.""We use Data Guard for online replication from data center, to data center for high availability. This is the most important feature.""Another valuable feature is the possibility of backing up the database from the standby database instead of the primary database, to avoid backup process overhead in the primary system.""You can see how the logs are applied, check the apply time, and how far behind the standby is at any given time.""We chose this solution for the availability of the databases. We can't afford Oracle Grid, this is the best solution if you want something similar that's less expensive.""The solution is quite stable. We haven't experienced any bugs, glitches, or crashes. We find it to be quite reliable."

Cons
"This might be a lack of understanding on my part, but it's difficult to purge old backups.""The licensing approach becomes intricate when dealing with SharePoint.""The initial setup was complex. We had to deploy it through an external consultant team.""There are times when the backups are slow. A faster backup would be better.""When an error occurs, the information is not always easy to understand and these messages should be made more clear.""I believe that the next release should be easier to configure as this one is difficult to configure even the easiest of tasks.""The product needs to have a simple DR process.""We needed to have help from the vendor for implementation. The vendor used two personnel. We have system administrators and they do the server backups themself."

More Acronis Cyber Protect Cons →

"For every standby server you have, you must pay a licensing fee, which is the main disadvantage.""The predominant issue lies in the communication link between the secondary and primary databases.""Oracle could be improved by the ability to manage it on the cloud. This on-premises version is secure and reliable, but I'm sure that they will soon provide a cloud solution that will be even better. In one to two years, we will probably move to the cloud—we have already moved to the cloud with Microsoft Exchange, but our databases are still on-premises. I would prefer managing a cloud version of Oracle.""A significant improvement for Oracle Data Guard would be enabling the disaster recovery site to handle read and write operations, not just data storage.""Overall, there are some operational issues that need to be dealt with.""I think it would be great to have a graphical interface assistant (like DBCA, ASMCA, NETCA, etc.) for initial configuration, monitoring, configuring Oracle Data Guard Broker and all the Data Guard Broker commands, without needing Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control installed.""For Italian medium-sized companies, the main challenge lies in the cost associated with licenses.""The database administration needs improvement. With Oracle, we have a lot of features for administrating data, but it might be too many. It needs to be simplified. It should be automated. Looking at Enterprise Manager, there are too many KPIs in place."
