We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Alteryx Designer is a tool that is pretty much easy to install.""It helps them to create customized workflows, transform data, perform calculations, and consolidate multiple data sources into a target database.""One of the things I like about Alteryx Designer is how easy it is to connect numerous data inputs, including API connectors. This helps tremendously in reducing the time required to extract data from systems like SAP that don't have straightforward connectivity options.""Alteryx is quite easy to use, learn, and understand as a product.""I have been using Alteryx Designer only for data modeling and data structuring.""The most valuable features are the integrated properties and integrated connectivity.""The product is intuitive and easy to use.""I believe in the ability to connect to multiple data sources, as well as the ease of use to transform data and output data in a variety of formats."

"One of the most valuable features was the ability to integrate multiple source systems that mainly used structured IDBMS versions.""As long as you pick the solution that best fits with your requirements, you won't find that performance is a problem. It's good.""The technical support is very good. I rate the technical support a ten out of ten.""I like modeling and code generation. It has become a pretty handy tool because of its short ideation to delivery time. From the time you decide you are modeling a data warehouse, and once you finish the modeling, it generates all the code, generates all the tables. All you have to do is tick a few things, and you can produce a fully functional warehouse. I also like that they have added all the features I have asked for over four years.""It's a stable solution.""Qlik Compose is good enough. It is user-friendly and intuitive.""There were many valuable features, such as extracting any data to put in the cloud. For example, Qlik was able to gather data from SAP and extract SAP data from the platforms.""One of the most valuable features of this tool is its automation capabilities, allowing us to design the warehouse in an automated manner. Additionally, we can generate Data Lifecycle Policies (DLP) reports and efficiently implement updates and best practices based on proven design patterns."

Cons
"An improvement for Alteryx Designer would be faster bug fixes and updates.""Alteryx Designer overall should be easier to use.""Alteryx could move faster to create a cloud equivalent of the desktop version of Designer.""The only thing is sometimes it can be a bit slow.""Its price can be improved. It is too expensive for our country. Because of its high price, we can't sell Alteryx Designer in this region. We used to be their reseller partner. There is also an additional cost for automating the data and running the flows, which makes it even more expensive. It will be very good if they can let users automate the data for free. Other solutions like Tableau provide this feature for free.""Sometimes, while getting data from a third-party product, the solution works slowly.""Improving the key-based sign-on process and making it more user-friendly would be a benefit.""If the price were reduced then it would be more competitive."

More Alteryx Designer Cons →

"There could be more customization options.""There is some scope for improvement around the documentation, and a better UI would definitely help.""It would be better if the first level of technical support were a bit more technically knowledgeable to solve the problem. I think they could also improve the injection of custom scripts. It is pretty difficult to add additional scripts. If the modeling doesn't give you what you want, and you want to change the script generated by the modeling, it is a bit more challenging than in most other products. It is very good with standard form type systems, but if you get a more complicated data paradigm, it tends to struggle with transforming that into a model.""For more complex work, we are not using Qlik Compose because it cannot handle very high volumes at the moment. It needs the same batching capabilities that other ETL tools have. We can't batch the data into small chunks when transforming large amounts of data. It tries to do everything in one shot and that's where it fails.""I'd like to have access to more developer training materials.""My issues with the solution's stability are owing to the fact that it has certain bugs causing issues in some functionalities that should be working.""Qlik's ETL and data transformation could be better.""I believe that visual data flow management and the transformation function should be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It is too expensive for our country. We are a small country, so it is too difficult to sell this solution. With Alteryx Designer, if you want to automate the data and run the flows, you have to pay more money. We were trying to automate the flows, and we found out that people have to pay 600 more for this feature, which makes it even more expensive. We are a partner for Tableau, and we are working with Tableau Prep, which is like a mini Alteryx. In Tableau Prep, you can drag and drop and make new connections with the different data sources. You can make all the connections. You can also publish a source. You don't have to pay more money with Tableau. You pay like $5 per user per month to access it."
  • "Alteryx is a little bit expensive compared to competing solutions."
  • "Alteryx Designer is an expensive solution."
  • "I rate Alteryx Designer a six out of ten for pricing."
  • "The licenses are expensive, making it difficult to consider acquiring additional licenses to the existing ones."
  • "Each license is something like $4,000."
  • "I rate the price of Alteryx Designer as a five on a scale of one to ten, where one is extremely expensive, and ten is a highly cheap product."
  • "I rate the price of Alteryx Designer a ten on a scale of one to ten, where one is low price and ten is high price."
