We performed a comparison between Asana and Planisware based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Project Portfolio Management solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The initial setup was straightforward."
"What I like the most about Asana is its API integrations because we use a lot of cluttered toolsets in our company since we need to cater to different clients, for which its integration gives us a lot of flexibility."
"Asana allows you to create your own project with sub sections with subtasks that can be assigned. The feature I really love is that you can tag people to notify them that there has been progress on a project as well as add attachments."
"It has helped our departments maintain visibility."
"It's an easy way to communicate."
"Asana has significantly reduced the number of emails we exchange because we can access the project directly. It organizes all the tasks related to each project, assigns them to staff with due dates, and tracks progress."
"The tool has a lot of integrations."
"It’s a great way to communicate plans and progress across the business and is flexible about how much detail I include and how I present it."
"We have a variety of different modules, but it is mainly used for costs, risks, and resources."
"The area that could benefit from improvement in this Planisware is the project management tool. I have previously used Project Server, which is a Microsoft solution, and I found it to be more user-friendly as it included a client solution. In contrast, with this solution, the only option available is the online version, making it difficult to create activities, milestones, and other necessary components. This is in comparison to Planisware, which offers a more comprehensive solution."
"It stands out by automating the intricate mechanics of project execution, eliminating the need for highly technical individuals to manage and reconfigure models."
"There are two things in particular that I enjoy. The first is the portfolio planning section. Another advantage is that it is highly customizable."
"Overall, our company has all disintegrated systems, and with Planisware, we are getting a very integrated view of my portfolio reporting, cost and load, and everything else."
"The solution is performance-oriented and easily customized accordingly to many areas, such as performance KPI."
"The solution can be difficult for new users to use because of the interface."
"We'd like the capability to be able to set up weekly reminders."
"The inbox feature can be a little overwhelming if you are working with Asana just from its project boards and only checking it periodically."
"A user should be able to identify an assignee for specific tasks or task types while applying the template, or at a minimum, allow for a default assignee. As it is, the template gets created with the just task dates driven by the project start and end dates inputted by the user. In my current situation, I'm assigning myself to many tasks, so I have to do that manually every time. Even if I eventually start adding other people to assign tasks, there won't be more than a handful to do. However, those few people will have multiple tasks. It would be nice to be able to select those individuals during the setup rather than having to do so manually once the project has been created."
"Some customizations and functions are still not available, however, so far, they haven't been a deal killer."
"In some instances, there were subtasks where more than one person needed to review it, but I could only assign it to one person. I would have to create a subtask under a subtask and then assign it to other people. This could be improved."
"The product's page is not user-friendly."
"I rate the support from Asana a four out of five."
"They do not have anything that can assist customers with multi-year roadmap planning."
"More integration is needed with other kinds of products for better collaboration."
"Its stability should be improved. Its stability is the main issue, but we sometimes also have issues with calculations."
"The solution's user experience and user interface need improvement because they are not that great and intuitive."
"The learning curve is steep and there could be more avenues for opening up learning materials to a broader audience, enabling individuals to gain practical experience with the tool."
