Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable features of the solution are its patching capabilities and the help it offers when it comes to use cases, like prompting for the reboot after a certain period of time.""The support from BMC Client Management is very good.""The inventory and patch management tools are very valuable.""One feature I like, that was especially valuable during the pandemic, is remote control. Remote control grants administrators and support personnel access to the laptops and PCs of employees (who might be working from home) in order to fix any issues that come up as and when they come up, even without having to wait for a support request.""The most valuable features of the solution are patch management and software license management.""It's a scalable solution. We have deployed it for customers using 3000 nodes to those using 300,000 nodes."

"The platform makes the mobile device management process straightforward to handle.""You can upgrade and migrate the existing group policies that we use for VMware Workspace ONE for the active directory. We can push the policies and group policies. We can migrate it and manage it from VMware Workspace ONE.""The platform provides a stable environment for operations and quickly creates new environments. Additionally, it offers efficient flexibility.""The product has fully automated features that help people do tasks easily.""The solution has very good documentation.""No issues with scalability.""We've configured single sign-on for two or three enterprise customers, and it works very well.""AirWatch has one of the best User Interfaces and it's quite easy to figure out where particular items are within the menu system."

Cons
"BMC Client Management supports only iOS devices. It would be good if they would support Android as well.""The solution does not offer the functionality of remote access to users.""The solution needs to add whitelisting because many customers request it.""BMC Client Management could improve in the area of integration.""The on-premises version of BMC Client Management has powerful remote control functionality and decent compliance features, but these features both rely on the discovery tool in order to gain a complete set of insights about the endpoint's environment. Now, BMC's discovery solution depends on having an agent installed in each endpoint and sometimes the agent doesn't work properly, making it difficult to get an accurate understanding of the environment (including special topologies) even with BMC's discovery tool.""It would be good if BMC Client Management can perform vulnerability assessment scanning at the endpoint on its own and mitigate that. Then, we wouldn't have to rely on a third party VA tool. I would like to see this application move to being a web-based one."

More BMC Client Management Cons →

"The initial setup is a bit complex.""Windows 10 management is there, but VMware only recently developed that part, and it's not fully mature. Patch management and other integrations are there as well as the application-pushing part, command line, mandatory commands, etc. Some out-of-the-box solutions should be available to better integrate a broader range of applications and handle application push. That's the roadmap we should look at.""I'd like to see more integration capabilities in future releases.""We'd like more useful support.""The only downside to the solution is that the dashboard is very confusing.""There is no Apple zero-day support for updates.""From an identity perspective, there is a lot of room for improvement when it comes to integration with other solutions. I would say it needs more capabilities in terms of direct integrations, including cloud identity solution integrations.""The portal is not user-friendly."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The solution is low cost."
  • "To use BMC Client Management they charge annually per node."
  • "BMC Client Management is a very affordable solution. There is one main server license which I believe is around $1,000 per year, and then there is the license for the actual solution. With the solution license, you can opt for a suite license where you get access to all the features and benefits, or alternatively you can buy any of the five main components of the suite license individually."
  • More BMC Client Management Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "You should take out a dedicated license agreement of your MDM fleet and invest heavily in innovating in this space."
  • "In terms of pricing, this solution is definitely much more expensive compared to other solutions, like MobileIron or MaaS360 or any other product in the market. This solution is more expensive by 30 or 40 percent."
  • "I have no opinion about the pricing of the product."
  • "The pricing and licensing are affordable. They are not too high."
  • "I think the pricing of the product needs advisement. It would be great to bundle the VM products together. I think the actual box itself should be included in the license. At present, it is not paired with the mobile device."
  • "If you purchase it for one year, it is very expensive. If you get it for three years or up to five years, then you can bargain a better price."
  • "There is a separate cost for technical support and extra premium features. The pricing should be simplified."
  • "The cost is a little bit high."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below is some feedback from our PeerSpot users who are currently using the solution:

PeerSpot user Patrick B., Cybersecurity Architect at a tech services company, says, "Its UI is extremely easy to use whether you're an advanced user or a novice user. When I first opened it up and had to learn the product, I was easily a novice. By the end of the third month, I was digging into the backend of the system and using it as a highly advanced user to accomplish what I needed to accomplish, and I was able to do it through the UI mostly."

Roshan T., Partner Manager North America at a tech company, mentions how satisfied he is with the product, saying, "You can put all your applications on a mobile device, be it a phone or tablet. It is secure and easy to use. Because it is centrally managed, you don't have to do any configuration on the phone. I just got the phone and connected to the central applications. I just downloaded one thing and everything got rolled out. Email, calendar, and other things were deployed centrally. If you don't have AirWatch, you have to configure your phone manually. For example, you need to deploy and configure your email manually and then synchronize everything. It is much simpler when a mobile device is centrally managed."
