Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"A person with a good IT background and HTML will not have any trouble with Confluent.""The most valuable feature of Confluent is the wide range of features provided. They're leading the market in this category.""Implementing Confluent's schema registry has significantly enhanced our organization's data quality assurance.""The most valuable feature that we are using is the data replication between the data centers allowing us to configure a disaster recovery or software. However, is it's not mandatory to use and because most of the features that we use are from Apache Kafka, such as end-to-end encryption. Internally, we can develop our own kind of product or service from Apache Kafka.""It is also good for knowledge base management.""Their tech support is amazing; they are very good, both on and off-site.""With Confluent Cloud we no longer need to handle the infrastructure and the plumbing, which is a concern for Confluent. The other advantage is that all portfolios have access to the data that is being shared.""One of the best features of Confluent is that it's very easy to search and have a live status with Jira."

"The solution is easy to use.""In my opinion, SAP PO is the most mature suite of tools to integrate processes across SAP environments at this moment. It's really unbeatable because it allows you to integrate whatever scenarios you can imagine.""The most valuable features of SAP Process Orchestration are its system monitoring and alerts.""The initial setup is easy.""It is strategically focused to forecast a global integration platform for our business.""Great monitoring tools and has its own alert framework.""Process Orchestration fulfils the need for middleware to mediate types of connectivity.""The monitoring tools are the most valuable feature."

Cons
"Confluence could improve the server version of the solution. However, most companies are going to the cloud.""The pricing model should include the ability to pick features and be charged for them only.""They should remove Zookeeper because of security issues.""It would help if the knowledge based documents in the support portal could be available for public use as well.""there is room for improvement in the visualization.""Confluent has a good monitoring tool, but it's not customizable.""It could have more integration with different platforms.""Currently, in the early stages, I see a gap on the security side. If you are using the SaaS version, we would like to get a fuller, more secure solution that can be adopted right out of the box. Confluence could do a better job sharing best practices or a reusable pattern that others have used, especially for companies that can not afford to hire professional services from Confluent."

More Confluent Cons →

"It would be beneficial to enhance the ease of implementing new projects and improve overall stability in our implementations.""In terms of technical support, it would be helpful if they handled the tickets a bit faster when queries are sent to them.""SAP needs to improve a lot in terms of the orchestration part so that more adapters can be provided to users, which are areas where the solution has downsides.""It is not a scalable solution for the cloud. I would not recommend this for the cloud.""The older version of the solution will no longer be supported.""The solution is not very scalable because it is at the end of its life.""It does not have all of the industry-standard solutions available in PO and it is not plug and play, so we have to do a lot of development.""The solution could improve by making it more user-friendly by limiting the code required. We have to add some code in some cases where we need complex logic or some other functions. If this was able to be done in a more simplified manner then it would save a lot of effort and time."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Confluent is expensive, I would prefer, Apache Kafka over Confluent because of the high cost of maintenance."
  • "You have to pay additional for one or two features."
  • "The pricing model of Confluent could improve because if you have a classic use case where you're going to use all the features there is no plan to reduce the features. You should be able to pick and choose basic services at a reduced price. The pricing was high for our needs. We should not have to pay for features we do not use."
  • "On a scale from one to ten, where one is low pricing and ten is high pricing, I would rate Confluent's pricing at five. I have not encountered any additional costs."
  • "Confluence's pricing is quite reasonable, with a cost of around $10 per user that decreases as the number of users increases. Additionally, it's worth noting that for teams of up to 10 users, the solution is completely free."
  • "Confluent has a yearly license, which is a bit high because it's on a per-user basis."
  • "It comes with a high cost."
  • "Confluent is highly priced."

  • "The cost of SAP products is quite high but the quality is really good."
  • "The pricing for this solution is fine."
  • "There are fees in addition to the licensing."
  • "It's not an expensive solution."
  • "Looking at market conditions, vendors nowadays are giving products at very low price levels. However, SAP Process Orchestration have not yet reduced their prices. The prices could be reduced a lot to stay competitive."
  • "The license is a one-time payment, and additional costs are only incurred on the infrastructure side since it's an on-premise solution."
  • "The price of SAP Process Orchestration was reasonable."
  • "The fee for maintenance is costly."

    Reviews from Real Users

Confluent stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its robust enterprise support and its open source option. PeerSpot users take note of the advantages of these features in their reviews:

Ravi B., a solutions architect at a tech services company, writes of the solution, “KSQL is a valuable feature, as is the Kafka Connect framework for connecting to the various source systems where you need not write the code. We get great support from Confluent because we're using the enterprise version and whenever there's a problem, they support us with fine-tuning and finding the root cause.”

Amit S., an IT consultant, notes, “The biggest benefit is that it is open source. You have the flexibility of opting or not opting for enterprise support, even though the tool itself is open source.” He adds, “The second benefit is it's very modern and built on Java and Scala. You can extend the features very well, and it doesn't take a lot of effort to do so.”

SAP NetWeaver Process Integration facilitates the integration of business processes that span different departments, organizations, or companies. SAP PI is based on general standards so as to enable 3rd-party systems to be integrated. At the center of SAP PI is an XML-based communication that uses HTTP (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol). Irrespective of the scenario used, the application-specific contents are transferred in messages in user-defined XML eXtensible Markup Language) from the sender to the receiver either via the Integration Server, or directly between the systems involved. SAP PI can be installed in different ways: Dual usage type installation: Based on both AS ABAP and AS Java. and Advanced Adapter Engine Extended (AEX): Based on AS Java only.
