Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"On the outside, the main differentiation is because Lookout ingest. They have ingested basically all of the apps for the last ten years and all the versions of all the apps, and we have that in a corporate database that allows us to do very large-scale machine learning and analysis on that data set. That's not something that any of the competitors really have the capability to do because they don't have access to the data set. A lot of the apps you can no longer get them because that version of the app is five or six years old, and it just doesn't exist anywhere anymore, except within our infrastructure. So, the ability to have that very rich dataset and learn from that dataset is a real differentiator.""The protection offered by the product is the most valuable feature. It detects vulnerabilities or traps on our users' phones and then prompts them to clean up their devices. Tools we used previously would only discover, which required us to gather information on the backend, so Lookout is a welcome upgrade.""The most valuable features are the antivirus as a whole, the anti-malware, and all of the protection features that scan our enterprise devices.""The solution is stable."

More Lookout Pros →

"The interface and other reports are all user-friendly.""Customers keep on improving their licenses. The solution remains scalable and flexible. On-premises deployments may have some limitations. However, cloud deployments offer a high degree of flexibility.""It has a valuable SD-WAN feature and provides good performance.""The pricing on offer is excellent.""I would rate the scalability of this product a nine out of ten because it is highly scalable. We have not had problems with customers in terms of scalability.""FortiGate is easy to configure. We configured one of the units and sent it to Indiana to be installed. We asked them to give us a call when they got it, so we could help them through the process, but they called us back to tell us it works great.""FortiGate SWG's most valuable feature is integration with vulnerability management.""The most useful features are application control, web filtering, and SD-WAN."

More Fortinet FortiGate SWG Pros →

"Prevents data leakage and protects data.""The solution offers good security functionality.""It is for secure web trafficking, and it is doing what it needs to do. It allows customers to consolidate and eliminate multiple technologies onto Netskope and just kind of turn the dial and use more features, such as CASB, VPN. SWG is another feature. You can monitor and govern all the traffic.""We can connect cloud apps and monitor them.""We've found the solution to be quite stable.""As Netskope is a cloud-based application, it is possible to analyze and distinguish personal and enterprise instances.""Overall, the product is nice, and I like the URL filtering, CASB, and other security stacks like threat prevention.""Web filtering and DLP are good features."

Cons
"The stability depends on the service from where you access it. Because sometimes, the place you are in, you have Gateway. You don't have Gateway. The gateway is overutilized. At the end, you need to go through their gateways. And this is the key point here. You have a tracking point. If it's not well orchestrated, and it scales up as you add more to the existing team, you will suffer""We just submitted an enhancement request reflecting the main area we want to see improvement in; the APIs. Currently, we're able to build dashboards, but it's somewhat backward because we use our MDM API to create them. Lookout should provide API to customers so we can query our data and use it in our cloud, and this is the only outstanding area for improvement with the product right now.""From the analysis that we've done, they do seem to be maybe a step behind in trying to enter the market with a new solution. But when they do pick up, they do come out with some good products.""Lookout was moving into the SSE space. And so their work on SecureWeb Gateway and SD-WAN is still sort of evolving."

More Lookout Cons →

"Fortinet needs to continue to improve network traceability. Other than that, we haven't run into anything that would give me any concern.""The software is a bit expensive to renew.""One area of improvement I've noticed is the lack of built-in monitoring capabilities in the firewall. Currently, we rely on third-party solutions for monitoring purposes. However, I believe the firewall itself has the potential to do a better job in this aspect. Another aspect of Fortinet that concerns me is related to redundancy. We have a setup with two firewalls working in parallel, which requires a highly adaptable configuration. However, it feels unfair that clients need to purchase two licenses, especially when one of the firewalls serves as a backup. We have noticed that other manufacturers have different policies on this matter.""Fortinet FortiGate SWG could improve the price, it is expensive.""We are providing VoIP and the IP licensing could improve in Fortinet FortiGate SWG.""We can't identify which users are causing challenges when we have issues.""Fortinet FortiGate SWG can be expensive for some customers.""Fortinet FortiGate SWG's costs need improvement."

More Fortinet FortiGate SWG Cons →

"Improvement in the solution is required in certain areas where the product does not provide access to its direct end users, who use the portal as an administrator.""The solution needs to improve its on-premise detection technique.""They should work on marketing material to put out their work with a little more effort.""Since they have the Netskope client, adding some functionality in the endpoint would be good.""The initial setup is a bit complex in that it takes a lot of time. In order to get the product to work as you need it to, there is a lot of configuration required.""The solution could improve the features for Zero Trust Network Access. They should add more security components to that module.""The stability of the solution to be very good. It is not the best and could improve but it is better than other solutions, such as Forcepoint.""The accuracy could be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The pricing is fair; it's comparable to our previous solution, and we carried out multiple POCs and POVs (proof of value). The product is worth the money we pay for it."

  • "The licensing costs are good. Prisma has much more options and support for security, but it has a higher cost. For example, Lookout costs 2/3rd of Prisma's licensing price."
