We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Juniper Mist offers valuable features like comprehensive network insight, granular policy control, fast device setup, strong security, and efficient SSL traffic management.""Overall, we've been very pleased with the performance.""In terms of reporting, in terms of all the user reports, it's very rich.""The most useful feature of Juniper Wireless AP is the reporting Marvis.""The simplicity is great.""The artificial intelligence feature is very good.""The most valuable feature of Juniper Mist is the Virtual Network Assistant, powered by artificial intelligence.""You can easily monitor, manage, and cover all your IT equipment."

"We're using SD-WAN at all of our locations now, which helps increase and aggregate and lower response time and improve application performance.""Security is the feature we like most from Fortinet. In general, their security architecture is really great, because it involves everything: firewalls, wireless LANs, the user. Everything is really secure.""We can deploy a tunnel-based VLAN and SSID, for something that happens at the last minute, in a matter of minutes, because of the interaction between the FortiGate, the FortiSwitches, and the FortiAPs.""The most valuable feature of the solution is the management.""The security is a valuable feature.""The most valuable features of this solution are its speed, reliability, and integration with the firewall.""The most valuable feature is the ability to connect and broadcast to different networks without using a VLAN or a layer two switch, which allows you to easily create guest networks.""At the moment, particularly with the COVID-19 situation, the most valuable feature is probably the IPsec VPN, which is easy to implement with Fortinet."

"I'm able to do a lot of things, because the GUI is designed very well. I'm able to remotely make certain changes via my phone and apply them right away. It makes life easier when it comes to managing the equipment. The Insight management solution phone app is very good. It enables me to do what I want to do.""The meshing capabilities are the most valuable feature. When I am going in-between buildings, my phone doesn't have to pick up different WiFi. They are all the same. Even in-between the buildings, I stay connected.""Our company sometimes uses the solution's technical support, and we have seen that they sort out our general problems quickly.""The initial setup of NETGEAR Insight Access Points was straightforward.""From the WiFi aspect, it's very intuitive and easy to use. The solution enables me to manage my entire WiFi from anywhere in the world...""The product's deployment is straightforward.""[Being] able to configure the WiFi devices and to see utilization remotely, or from the cloud.""The metrics demonstrate that NETGEAR really does a good job of balancing the load between the various access points on the networks and this results in an elimination of downtime."

Cons
"They should include SD-WAN features to it.""I need a bit more time with it before criticizing the features.""Improving third-party integration is key for Juniper Mist's next release.""There is room for improvement in terms of support and installation.""Juniper Mist Wireless Access Points’ support services need improvement.""The pricing is very high in the Indian market.""Juniper Wireless Access Points (AP Series) could improve if the MIST platform had a built-in master key. This would be an advantage.""The price could be better."

More Juniper Mist Wireless Access Points Cons →

"In the next release, they could improve by adding a controller-less server, or architecture that is provided in other solutions, such as Aruba. This would be a great benefit for customers.""The solution should improve user capacity.""They need to do more with their marketing. That's what's wrong with them. Nobody knows they do all this other stuff. I love the product. For an enterprise-level system, you never have to explain why you're recommending Fortinet, whereas you might have to do that if you want to use the Ubiquiti Professional or the new Netgear line, but you don't have to explain Fortinet. It has been remarkable to work with.""I have used Cisco previously and I don't see any specific differences from Fortinet FortiWLM or other vendors.""Technical support is very poor. We are not satisfied with the technical support because there is not any direct person from Fortinet for any troubleshooting, which we expected.""The pricing for the solution is expensive and can be improved.""When using the FortiGate as the wireless controller, you cannot have automatic user registration, which is something that they should offer.""The roaming of Fortinet FortiWLM could improve when comparing it to other solutions. We are missing some of the functionality in the controller. Additionally, they should offer more logs instead of using FortiAnalyzer because all the users will not be using the same thing."

More Fortinet FortiWLM Cons →

"Software-wise, they need to provide the ability to kick users out. If multiple users are abusing the system or the network, I should be able to block them for a time and, when I need to unblock them, I should be able to do so by using their MAC ID. That feature might already be there and I just don't know about it.""A con is the backend system which is very, very slow.""My major problem is right now, the area which I need to cover is around 7,000 to 10,000 square feet...I would like NETGEAR Insight Access Points to extend the area coverage they provide.""While the data throughput does provide us with full insight into data being used, we find that it's not very accurate.""I have some frustrations with the ease of use. It tends to be sluggish. The graphical interface is pretty, but not useful. They have this tree that shows connected devices, which makes no sense whatsoever because the labeling field of the tree truncates all the items to the point that it's almost useless. You can't even tell what it is. I would prefer a spreadsheet list of the gear as opposed to a graphical representation.""The registration is annoying. I have to go back to NETGEAR and log tickets. Access points and router registration are something that they need to address in Insight. They need to fix the bug of getting the devices activated and enrolled in Insight without fighting with them. I have probably done about six of these in the last month. You get to see patterns.""There is always room for improvement.""Due to certain shortcomings in the solution's stability, I feel that the solution's stability requires improvement."

  • "It is an expensive solution."
