We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The managing and monitoring are the solution's most valuable features. They are something I find quite helpful in my work.""The interface is in continuous development and improves version by version.""This solution has improved our organization through the provision of efficient resource utilization and capacity planning.""The product's initial setup phase is easy with the help of the framework consisting of Microsoft Azure.""This is a good product and I recommend it.""I think it's stable, scalable, and flexible."

"The integration capabilities and APIs are the best part.""The pricing of the product is reasonable.""The most valuable features are the monitoring and the ease with which we can set it up at customer sites with our custom Zabbix proxy and tools.""The most valuable feature is the protocol to manage anything.""There is a problems page that shows us every warning or problem that occurs on our VMs globally. The map screen is also really useful because this is something that was missing. I don't know every other tool in the market. So, I don't know if this is a good point of only Zabbix, or other tools are also doing it, but from my point of view, this is the most useful page that I use, along with the problems page that efficiently lists the problem, recovery time, ending hours, starting hours, and so on.""Zabbix is very easy to implement.""It not only provides the preconfigured item monitoring feature, but it is also easy to configure custom items.""It can send messages to our ticketing system."

Cons
"The quality of service and support for this solution needs to be improved.""Our customers would like to see the price lowered.""If the solution could provide better integration to make it easier to manage everything on different servers, that would be helpful. Whatever servers a company has, be it IBM, Dell, etc., if the System Management could be a platform that links all of them together, it would make management across different server types easier.""The product should increase the processing capacity and allow speedy deployment, as both of them are areas with certain shortcomings where improvements are required.""The return on investment report is too difficult to understand.""I think that support integration could be improved."

"When we have a problem, we have to do a lot of research to solve it.""The performance reporting could be improved.""Zabbix is not easy to configure, and upgrading is also an issue.""The product delivers false positives during reporting because of flapping. Other reasonably priced alternatives may have better performance.""I would like to better be able to monitor Oracle processes.""The System Center Operations Manager can be improved.""We had some scalability issues with a large number of nodes.""Having a more customizable interface and dashboard would be an improvement."

I have researched a quite a few network monitoring tools which can be used for various monitoring purposes of not only the servers, but the intermediate routers as well. There are majorly three types of these softwares. Ones which are completely open-source, you can do almost anything you want using these, but they require quite some expertise before you can use them. Then there are the ones that are not open source, the enterprise softwares and cost you some money, but on the other hand, they are extremely easy to set-up and learn. You can have them up and running in a matter of minutes. And then there are those which are completely cloud based. They can be free of cost or charge some money depending on the software. The good thing about these is that you don’t have to install any extra software, and it can be managed completely online but then again these have limited features and you cannot exploit them to the full extent as you can do with the open-source and to some extent the enterprise software, so I won’t suggest you to use these, because these are generally not the complete solutions and require other support software to achieve the same. Below I have listed the outstanding pros and cons of the various Network analyzers that you can look into Nagios Pros: Nagios offers an extensive set of collector plug-ins that allows users to gather performance and availability data from a broad range of operating systems, including  Windows and Netware Nagios… Read more →
