Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It enables decisions based upon processes that we do model, and ultimately move forward with.""The solution is stable. All the refreshes run very well.""The ease of documenting and digitizing the processes was valuable to us.""This solution is good at utilizing standards rules for connectivity.""IBM Blueworks Live is cloud-based and provides easy access to all your processes in one place.""Collaboration is most valuable. You can collaborate online with many people. People can comment, and you can comment back. It is just like a social network, and that, for me, is very good.""Valuable features include real-time modeling and design work, the ability to perform workshops with clients in real-time with the tool, and getting instant output.""In terms of the collaboration features, from the point of discovery, it was useful to go to load up the policies and the rule sets that the client had. And in terms of exploring options and being able to model a variety of different processes, that was incredibly useful as well."

"The most valuable feature is the integrated manner in which all the capabilities of the Enterprise Process Center platform work together and make it easier to complete the documentation of processes.""One notable software-related benefit from a user perspective is our improved ability to identify opportunities for automation and process enhancement just by gaining a clearer view of the processes. There are two valuable aspects. First, setting up the process architecture is commendable. Second, not having to maintain different versions of processes is a notable benefit. The solution is stable. The support team is responsive."

Cons
"The user interface is quite easy at first but process analysts soon run into roadblocks of limited functionality, which is disappointing.""We would like the ability to add additional custom colors. We would like to color additional items to add notes to the blueprint.""I can't insert any images. For example, within the process map, if I want to put it in the box or rectangle, or circle. If I have to use one image or icon, that's not possible.""IBM Blueworks is BPMN 2.0 compliant, but it does not adapt to the overarching BPMN 2.0 concepts.""The APIs are great, except the normal business user doesn't know how to create APIs. So it's hard because IBM comes to us as the business users and tell us to create reporting with APIs, except we don't know that, so we have to turn around and flip it to our IT people.""I wish Blueworks Live had simulations built in, but it doesn't. It also lacks a feature of reporting; ad hoc, drag and drop reporting. A lot of senior people are always asking for reports, and there's no reporting feature within IBM Blueworks.""The solution is a very basic discovery product so it doesn't have that much modeling capability. This can be improved.""The objects that the solution creates are not unique."

More IBM Blueworks Live Cons →

"As with all such platforms, Enterprise Process Center is a complex tool and there are many capabilities and features that take time to learn.""However, on the process mining side, there's potential for improvement to gain deeper insights into process functionality. Additionally, there's always room for enhancement in the user interface."
