We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"A strong point of FortiGate is that the graphical interface is complete and easy to use, especially if we think there is a list of operations that we are able to perform inside.""The most valuable features of Fortinet FortiGate are the ease of use and there are several operating systems that can include the hardware capacities. In the newer releases, the resources were more useful because they were included in the operating system.""The solution is scalable.""Fortigate's most valuable feature is that it doesn't need a push policy when writing rules.""It is easy to use. We chose this product for the possibility to have virtual domains (VDOMs). We are building another company in the group, and we would like to split the firewalling rules and policies between these two companies. Each company would be able to manage its own policies and security rules, which is an advantage of Fortinet FortiGate. We can define VDOMs, and every company can manage its own VDOM as if it has its own physical firewall, but in fact, we would be using the same physical appliance because we are also using the same internet lines. So, it allows us to reuse the existing resources without the disadvantage of having to compromise on policies and security. Each company can choose its own way of working.""We use the filtering feature the most. It has filtering and inbuilt securities. We can create customized rules to define which users can access a particular type of site. We can create policies inside the firewall.""The response is very quick and they can visually resolve our problems in a short period.""It increases security posture and is helpful for firewall reporting, intrusion protection, web filtering, and SD-WAN implementation."

"It is deployed on the customer site, and we manage the firewalls on this side.""It's a very powerful solution and the firewalls offer high performance""The architecture of the OS in Juniper is very good. It's flexibility, scalability, and the technicality is also good.""It is easy for me to go in and update settings, make changes, or add/remove rules or security.""It's much faster to deploy a power source. If you need to deploy a firewall in the cloud of software, it's much easier and much faster than deploying the office firewall in a rush.""The authentication part is seamless and easy for people.""The product’s quality and performance are better than other vendors.""The initial setup is pretty simple."

More Juniper vSRX Pros →

"Our organization's main concern is stability, and this is a stable solution.""Easily manageable in a variety of environments.""The solution has improved my organization because I can see what traffic is happening and I can use it to block and prevent attacks.""I like how you can configure the rules. There is the task for the rules and a task for the network configuration. It also provides SMD filtering, and it can be integrated with the active directory for the users, their mission, and the VPN configuration. We are here in Sudan, and Stormshield didn't work in Sudan for more than a decade. Stormshield is a very strong firewall and very easy to configure and maintain. I am just working with the firewall solution, and we don't have any other solutions like endpoint solutions or something like that.""This solution is quick and easy to configure.""I can see what traffic is going on. I can easily block any programs from attacks.""It's an easy, straightforward management platform to use.""A very robust product."

Cons
"Fortinet FortiGate could improve by having better visibility. Palo Alto has better visibility.""Fortinet FortiGate can improve by integrating the web application firewall and the DDoS protection part of the solution. Having a WAF feature, web application firewall, and proxy together would be a good benefit.""I would like to see more advanced developments of a wireless controller in the future.""They sometimes hide some features and if you want to enable them, you have to go in the CLI, enable the feature and configure it through the CLI. Customers, typically, like everything to be done by the GUI.""In the next release, I would like to see the interface simplified to be more user-friendly.""I think there could be more QoS features""The scalability could be better.""Fortinet FortiGate should improve the VPN tokens."

More Fortinet FortiGate Cons →

"The reporting can be improved.""The user interface could always be better. They could make it simpler and more intuitive.""There are too many types of licenses, which can be confusing.""The solution's GUI needs improvement.""The GUI interface needs improvement.""The GUI really needs a lot of work, and it has got worse with successive version updates.""We experienced some technical issues during implementation""VPN access is an area that needs improvement."

More Juniper vSRX Cons →

"This is not a next-generation firewall.""The filtering configuration could be better. We have some difficulties with the filtering configuration and the filter extension. It's not that easy. It's not that straightforward. In the next release, I would like to see a reporting system. Stormshield doesn't have any tutorials on how to do the configuration and things like that. They just have documentation on the website. If you want to configure, for example, Cisco or Fortinet, you can find tutorials on YouTube. They show you how to configure the features, and so on. In Stormshield, there is nothing on social media or the internet on how to configure different things. The lack of documentation or the lack of material makes it difficult for others to adopt this solution.""A more user-friendly interface would be helpful.""The biggest issue was their support department was not able to help us, then everything stops. This is a no-go area for me.""Stormshield Network Security is quite expensive.""This solution has a big problem with web filtering and it needs to be improved.""It could be better if it were more user-friendly. It's too complicated for us to use it. The price could be better as well.""The SD card could be more secure."
