We performed a comparison between Linode and Microsoft Azure based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two Infrastructure as a Service Clouds (IaaS) solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."The virtual machine configuration tool is very helpful for setting up a new server or for modifying an existing server."
"The fact that you can get a person on the phone has just been fantastic."
"Generally speaking, I have not found any faults using Linode. For what we wanted, they provided a complete solution."
"Linode has many other cloud servers across the globe."
"For small businesses and people who have some technical skills and are good with Linux command line, this solution is great. I love Linode because it is very fast. Whereas, the same configuration on Azure and AWS will be so slow. The best thing is that their pricing and speed are great."
"Linode offers cost-effective pricing, and it enables me to swiftly deploy my services."
"It is also important that Linode offers worldwide coverage via multiple data centers. The ability to deploy on multiple servers, worldwide, allows us to have distributed services and failover and redundancy."
"We can scale up and down as we require."
"It has multiple features that can be used from the start."
"We validate customer videos and speech in real-time by utilizing language translation services and image processing. This involves converting speech to text and vice versa in real-time. Customers record videos where they speak predefined text. We capture the image and speech, convert it to text, and compare it with the standardized text."
"I get all the features under one roof."
"Infrastructure as a service is most valuable."
"I like a lot of features. For example, the Windows virtual solution has helped in such a way that our client-based application was converted into a web-based version through the use of the Windows Virtual Desktop."
"In terms of managing and configuring infrastructures, Azure is fairly good."
"Feature-wise, I like its stability. Also, it is easy to access the solution and its options."
"Azure offers broad compatibility with both structured and unstructured data. For example, we use PostgreSQL for storing Azure's official data and manage various types of data, including tabular and image data, accommodating the storage of all data types we handle. So, in many ways, Azure simplified the data storage and management needs."
"Our primary concern is always the latency."
"The only improvement in this aspect of the service which I can think of is perhaps a pool of developers who could be hired for those cases where the need goes beyond the support offered."
"The product must improve its security."
"Before they changed the dashboard, I found some of the more granular options easier to find."
"I'm not sure what could be improved at Linode since they're likely already making enhancements, especially with the Akamai acquisition and, I don't have any specific suggestions as I haven't encountered any major issues. I might consider using API for managing DNS records, but overall, I'm satisfied with Linode."
"One thing that I'd really like to see is auto-scaling node pools for their Kubernetes. I don't think that they have that. That's a huge one and would be very helpful. Specifically, what I would like is auto-scaling node pools that would scale down to zero nodes, which is tricky. That's very important for certain use cases."
"They are already working on the firewalls and VLANs, which need improvement, and are now in beta. I am on the beta program for the firewalls, but I can't use it yet because they are only in Mumbai and Australia, and I am not in those data centres. This is the one thing that I have been waiting for almost since the day that I joined them, so it is nice that they are doing that. The VLANs will be an improvement as well, and I am keen and waiting for that."
"When it comes to marketing and exposure, Linode needs improvement because I just randomly found them by looking for Linux solutions."
"Microsoft Azure could improve by being more user-friendly and the interface could be better."
"The process by which our customers can switch from one subscription to another should be simplified."
"If you compare it with AWS, it is not very friendly to use. I find the UI better to work with on AWS."
"I would say an improvement could be allowing for more external, third-party tools. However, I think that's their vision, how they develop the product."
"I would like to see improved migration tools. It is improving week by week. They just need to make sure that they keep up with the new functionality provided in other clouds."
"From a security perspective, there is always something that can be improved as we serve our customers."
"The security must be improved."
"I would like to see the console improved."
