We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It's user-friendly and has a good dashboard.""The stability is pretty good.""Technical support is okay in terms of the help they provide.""The most advantageous aspect of Microsoft Azure Synapse Analytics is its simplified data transformation process compared to traditional databases. This makes data cleansing and transformation more manageable and straightforward, which we appreciate. It is much easier to build as well.""The most important feature for me is the integration with PolyBase.""The best thing about it is that it has integration at multiple places. It can talk to more than 90 types of data sources, which is one good thing about it.""The most valuable feature is performance gains.""The most valuable features of Microsoft Azure Synapse Analytics are the user experience because it is easy to make analyses, load different databases, and different resources. Our end users can do the analysis by themselves without IT supervising. This is a great aspect of the solution, it's better for our environment."

"After creating a RabbitMQ service, they provide you with a sort of web management dashboard.""I like the high throughput of 20K messages/sec, and that it supports multiple protocols.""Tanzu Greenplum's most valuable features include the integration of modern data science approaches across an MPP platform.""With VMware Tanzu Greenplum, one can make a huge database table and analyze the queries by adding in the SQL command. Some hint or command for the query goes over the multi-parallel execution.""The most valuable feature is asynchronous calls, which are easy to configure.""It is easy to use. The addition of more queues and more services can be managed very easily.""The stability of this solution was very good.""Simple and straightforward admin portals: Made it easy for users and worked out excellently for our requirements"

Cons
"From an infrastructure standpoint, I believe it can be more secure in terms of availability.""It's a complicated product.""This is a young product in transition to the cloud and it needs more work before it is both settled as a product and competitive in the market.""Indicating what areas need improvement in this solution is a difficult question because the organizations that I am working for are really new in this area. However, an even better more simple interface, or perhaps an extension of a connector app store solution, would be helpful.""It's stable, but its stability could be better. However, we understand that it's in production, and new features are getting added and upgraded, so you do get hiccups sometimes.""They should automate some of the features. There are some things, such as the creation of external tables, that you have to do manually. They should be automated.""I am pretty sure that there are areas that need improvement but I just can think of them off the top of my head.""An area for improvement in Microsoft Azure Synapse Analytics is its user interface. You can use it for analytical purposes, but its platform should be a little bit more user-friendly. Another small point for improvement in Microsoft Azure Synapse Analytics is its stability. It's good currently, but it could still be improved. Microsoft is combining different tools and technologies into one solution, so in the future, I'm expecting to see even more improvement in Microsoft Azure Synapse Analytics. An additional feature I'd like to see in the next version of Microsoft Azure Synapse Analytics is the drag-and-drop feature. If you're doing some integrations where you can write Scala or you have SPARK programming or SQL, or you're combining different programming, the process should be seamless, and you should be able to drag and drop in Microsoft Azure Synapse Analytics. When doing reporting in the solution, you should also be able to drag and drop. There should be connectors available and a drag-and-drop feature available in the user interface of Microsoft Azure Synapse Analytics, so you won't have to worry about how all processes would work together. You need to be able to drag and drop even from the backend, and having this feature will make the solution more user-friendly."

More Microsoft Azure Synapse Analytics Cons →

"One of the disadvantages, not a disadvantage with the product itself, but overall, is the expertise in the marketplace. It's not easy to find a Greenplum administrator in the market, compared to other products such as Oracle.""The solution needs improvement on performance.""The initial deployment was a little difficult.""They should add more analytics. Their documentation could also be improved so that I don't have to bother my co-workers and tech support so often.""VMware RabbitMQ needs to create a new queue system.""RabbitMQ is clearly better supported on Linux than it is on Windows. There are idiosyncrasies in the Windows version that are not there on Linux.""It doesn't have any GUI-based monitoring tools.""VMware Tanzu Greenplum needs improvement in the memory area and improved methods for quick access to the disc. So, one of the quick goals of Greenplum must work on enhancing access to the disc by adding hints in the database."
