We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The simplicity is great.""In terms of reporting, in terms of all the user reports, it's very rich.""The solution is pretty generic and easy to use.""With Mist, every Wednesday they roll out new features.""The most useful feature of Juniper Wireless AP is the reporting Marvis.""Juniper Mist offers valuable features like comprehensive network insight, granular policy control, fast device setup, strong security, and efficient SSL traffic management.""The most valuable feature of Juniper Mist is the Virtual Network Assistant, powered by artificial intelligence.""The most valuable feature of Juniper Wireless Access Points (AP Series) is the ability to troubleshoot ports on the network. Additionally, when there is an update on the APs they are able to reboot quickly reducing downtime. Other solutions have a longer downtime when updates are done."

"The AI deployment process involves adding access points and placing them in the designated area. The AI system automatically adjusts channel selection and transmission power without any issues with stability or throughput. It has improved network performance.""Mist AI and Cloud have definitely improved the functioning of our organization. The access to the Internet, including its speed and reliability, has significantly improved.""There are several valuable features. One of them is Cibas, and another one is Marvis.""I have a very good experience with the solution. Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.""AI is the most valuable feature.""The triangulation feature can be used to determine where a person is in relation to the access point.""The cost is the most valuable aspect of this solution.""Mist AI and Cloud is the best solution I have seen in the industry, especially from the artificial intelligence perspective, as it helps businesses."

"The most valuable feature of PRTG Network Monitor is the different monitoring probes available.""Nice product with an easy interface to use and a large variety of sensors.""The remote probes are very useful. They allow us to provide a reference across different areas in the network. In trying to localize issues, that's very useful.""It is user-friendly. It is easy to set up health checks within PRTG and use scans. It is like a self-service tool, and anyone can configure their own settings within PRTG.""Ease of set-up – it is quick and easy to add a probe and start collecting data from a device.""PRTG is relatively intuitive and fairly straightforward. It has net flow monitoring and that works all right. I would describe it as a decent middle-of-the-road solution.""Speed of deployment is one of the most valuable features.""It is able to satisfy all our requirements in terms of email notifications and specific errors on the devices."

Cons
"If you want to do more specific stuff, it's a bit limited.""They should include SD-WAN features to it.""Improving third-party integration is key for Juniper Mist's next release.""It would be helpful to have even stronger security features to help protect against interference from other nearby access points that aren't part of our network.""The product should include adaptive Wi-Fi to show a more accurate location.""Juniper Wireless AP can improve by continually improving its reporting and integration with other systems.""The pricing should be made cheaper.""The price could be better."

More Juniper Mist Wireless Access Points Cons →

"Mist AI and Cloud should improve its integrations.""There seems to be different versions of standards used in the wireless access points. In the future, it would be helpful if the solution could come up with some kind of universal standard for all devices and all access points.""In future releases, they need to add some router models. Because currently, it supports only SSR and WAN routers. But adding other routers would be good.""The solution lacks documentation.""There are some technical issues that may require attention""The user experience should be improved. It's not user-friendly.""There could be more integration.""Currently, the solution lacks the ability to configure with other solutions from other vendors."

More Mist AI and Cloud Cons →

"The database needs improvement.""Improvements in data storage flexibility, such as allowing customers to specify data retention periods, would enhance PRTG.""I wouldn't mind better categories for the sensors. When I go to add a new sensor for a new device, there are some categories in there already, and they can be filtered out, but there's quite a large pool of sensors... When I want to go in and find something quite specific, I have got to scroll down and scroll down to find what I'm actually looking for,""Integration into service management ticketing systems could be better. They should simplify the integration into big service management platforms like ServiceNow, Remedy, and Cherwell. They're really into monitoring, but they don't do any self-resolution. It would be better if the company moved more into the AIOps space so that you could actually kick off some remedies. I know that you can execute some commands from the tool, but you need to develop those all yourself. It would be really handy if they had some auto-remedy scripts that they could develop on top.""It would be good if there were better graphical interfaces when you have it on multiple monitors... Because we have so many servers, things can get lost in the fog a little bit. Maybe having a better way of showing different geographies, Flash, etc., would help.""The scalability of this solution could improve as well as the automated provisioning of the infrastructure.""I would like to see Office 365 monitoring. Essentially, it doesn't do it. I assumed not at all, but apparently it does it slightly. However, due to issues with APIs, they currently don't provide full monitoring for O365.""Sometimes, it is difficult to drill down further to get information, e.g., if we saw spike in traffic, then we would want to drill down and find out what is causing that spike in traffic."

I have researched a quite a few network monitoring tools which can be used for various monitoring purposes of not only the servers, but the intermediate routers as well. There are majorly three types of these softwares. Ones which are completely open-source, you can do almost anything you want using these, but they require quite some expertise before you can use them. Then there are the ones that are not open source, the enterprise softwares and cost you some money, but on the other hand, they are extremely easy to set-up and learn. You can have them up and running in a matter of minutes. And then there are those which are completely cloud based. They can be free of cost or charge some money depending on the software. The good thing about these is that you don’t have to install any extra software, and it can be managed completely online but then again these have limited features and you cannot exploit them to the full extent as you can do with the open-source and to some extent the enterprise software, so I won’t suggest you to use these, because these are generally not the complete solutions and require other support software to achieve the same. Below I have listed the outstanding pros and cons of the various Network analyzers that you can look into Nagios Pros: Nagios offers an extensive set of collector plug-ins that allows users to gather performance and availability data from a broad range of operating systems, including  Windows and Netware Nagios… Read more →
