Pros
"The artificial intelligence feature is very good.""The simplicity is great.""You can easily monitor, manage, and cover all your IT equipment.""In terms of reporting, in terms of all the user reports, it's very rich.""The AI capabilities of Mist Wireless are superior to other OEMs.""With Mist, every Wednesday they roll out new features.""Juniper Mist offers valuable features like comprehensive network insight, granular policy control, fast device setup, strong security, and efficient SSL traffic management.""The most useful feature of Juniper Wireless AP is the reporting Marvis."

"Natural language patching is an important feature.""AI is the most valuable feature.""Mist AI and Cloud have definitely improved the functioning of our organization. The access to the Internet, including its speed and reliability, has significantly improved.""The cost is the most valuable aspect of this solution.""The most valuable aspect is that they operate on small microservices, offering numerous open APIs that enhance the value of our Wi-Fi network. This flexibility allows us to optimize various aspects such as workforce planning and occupancy management. The platform is highly open in the market, providing robust APIs for seamless integration with other tools. Currently, we leverage these capabilities at a building site, incorporating IoT sensors to gather data. The collected data is stored in a centralized location, and we plan to use AI for analysis. This analysis will include insights on peak activity times, humidity levels, temperature variations, and other relevant metrics within the building.""The AI deployment process involves adding access points and placing them in the designated area. The AI system automatically adjusts channel selection and transmission power without any issues with stability or throughput. It has improved network performance.""The Marvis feature of Mist AI, an artificial intelligence tool, is very useful.""There are several valuable features. One of them is Cibas, and another one is Marvis."

"One of the most valuable features I appreciate is auto channelization, facilitated by a proprietary product called ChannelFly.""Ruckus Wireless supports the most recent technologies. We can trace every individual and what kind of traffic they're using on our campus. It is very helpful.""The solution has great network intelligence from applications, clients, access points, and controllers.""Ruckus WAPs have excellent coverage and their beamforming means that we can cover more area with fewer WAPs.""The solution is used for public Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi solution provides internet connectivity in the public platform.""The solution is very stable. I've worked with it at a hospital before, where we deployed it all over the hospital. It worked everywhere and continuously worked flawlessly.""Ruckus Wireless is a reliable solution.""The solution provides superior coverage."

Cons
"Juniper Wireless AP can improve by continually improving its reporting and integration with other systems.""If you want to do more specific stuff, it's a bit limited.""I need a bit more time with it before criticizing the features.""The product should include adaptive Wi-Fi to show a more accurate location.""The solution is expensive.""They should include SD-WAN features to it.""There is room for improvement in terms of support and installation.""The pricing is very high in the Indian market."

More Juniper Mist Wireless Access Points Cons →

"The user experience should be improved. It's not user-friendly.""There is no local support for Mist in Brazil.""There seems to be different versions of standards used in the wireless access points. In the future, it would be helpful if the solution could come up with some kind of universal standard for all devices and all access points.""Currently, the solution lacks the ability to configure with other solutions from other vendors.""If there's one thing I'd like to change, it's the pricing. They are quite expensive, but honestly, it's justified by the value they provide. However, for a simple Wi-Fi connectivity with basic security needs, there are alternatives in the market that offer comparable features at a more budget-friendly price.""The inter-functionality with other vendors was a negative for us.""There are some technical issues that may require attention""Mist AI and Cloud should be marketed more and focus on making partners in the industry."

More Mist AI and Cloud Cons →

"I would like to see this product made a little more economical because it's very expensive.""Ruckus is a bad solution in general. It's pretty old and outdated.""They need to be able to allow us to keep some of the older products on our cloud controllers or any of their controllers longer and just start supporting the new controllers. They force you into an upgrade unnecessarily.""The product is very expensive.""In the last year, there's been a significant price jump, but I think Ruckus Wireless is still a good value for the money.""Its security can be improved. It doesn't use Wireless IPS. Therefore, we have to combine WatchGuard that uses a Wireless IPS but is a separate solution. These two solutions work in conjunction. We are using the WatchGuard as a sensor and Wireless IPS, and Ruckus is like a platform that is used for the connectivity of the network.""I would like to see more detailed network performance, monitoring, and reporting tools or information. This would improve the deployment of multi-site networks and help administrators to progress on a timely efficient manner.""Their support has been lacking a little bit and needs to be improved. I have had a ticket open for a month, and it is really hard to get a resolution out of them. They haven't really come out with anything that is much of an improvement in a long time. It has mostly just been fixes and things like that. We used to have a ZoneDirector or a physical controller for the wireless network, and that was kind of end of life. It was very old, and at the time, we were expanding the wireless network, and we didn't want to rely on one piece of hardware that was pretty old. So, we went to SmartZone Cluster, which has two VMs in a cluster. Unfortunately, we lost the feature ability for guest networks and other things that we were using before, and Ruckus just kind of told us that they weren't supporting that feature in the newer product, which is not really great. I was told initially that SmartZone was an upgrade to ZoneDirector. It is the logical thing to think that it is going to have all the same features, but it didn't. The issue that we have right now is onboarding BYOD devices. It is not really great for us, and we're looking for a new product to make that easier. We did have Cloudpath, which was a product that Ruckus purchased from another company that was an onboarding solution, but it just didn't really work very well for us. So, we discontinued using it, and it actually created more confusion for people. They should make BYOD or guest network portals a lot easier and better. In some areas, we have been having issues because there are just so many WAPs that are so close that we had to manually turn down the radio of power because the automatic feature of the AP wasn't really doing it right. It should also have a little bit better RF analysis capability to be able to see on the controller side. The front end for our staff, students, and guests has also not been quite as good as we had hoped."

  • "The cost can be prohibitive for many as it is a high-end product in the WiFi market."
  • "Pricing is very competitive for an enterprise solution. Regarding licensing, always carry the support contract on the controller (not needed on APs)."
  • "It's definitely a good value. It's more expensive than some of the other offerings out there, but when you compare it to other enterprise-class gear, it's very well priced. And the beauty of it is, because it has better range because of their patented BeamFlex - which is the way they can send and receive and listen to signals - you can actually use fewer access points. That means that it's a cheaper overall project."
  • "The only complaint I have about Ruckus is the price, but considering other enterprise WiFi products are similarly priced, I feel Ruckus is a superior product."
  • "The cost per AP license should be worked on."
  • "We found it a little more expensive than the other competitors on the market."
  • "We also looked at Cisco and Aruba but Ruckus pricing was better."
  • ""The biggest adjustment improvement will come from a price adjustment because the price is quite high; it feels like premium pricing. I suggest shaving off 10 percent to 20 percent. That would help grow users and increase the number of clients.""
