Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It has in-depth analysis using developer code for someone whose not traditionally a developer.""The initial setup is straightforward. It is easy to track and easy to follow.""The most valuable feature is application monitoring.""The VPN is one of the solution's most valuable features for us.""It has helped my organization to dive deeper into the application using the APM module is very helpful.""New Relic's dashboard is nice, and it's reliable. It's also compatible with many services, especially Java and the Python ecosystem.""The pricing is pretty good.""We use it for monitoring, identifying when services go down, or when they are outside of what we would consider normal operations."

"The most valuable feature is the ability to Drill down to webpage actions.""The availability of the solution is its most valuable aspect. I can also Google anything I want and upload it on the cloud. I can do that using the mobile app. It is very helpful.""ORUEI lets you create a dashboard that shows you insight into the user experience.""The customers requires redundancy work to achieve a 99.999% uptime. To accomplish this, we installed this solution into storage. This setup ensures that if one node goes down, the system remains operational through another node. So that's the core aspect of the setup. Additionally, the schedule and the rental database run on servers, and behind these servers, we have storage. This storage operates as a single storage cluster, although there might be another storage option that costs around $30."

Cons
"The price could improve.""It is a serious tool and requires a lot of time invested in order to understand how it works.""The older view is much better than the new view that they have. We'd like to go back to that previous version. The user interface just isn't as nice as it used to be.""The UX/UI design of New Relic APM could be improved. The solution currently has some slow pages in terms of loading and viewing the pages, for example, the reports. The reports and other pages take a long time to load.""Real-user monitoring would be helpful as it would help me to really understand the client-side performance of the application.""Compared to their competitors, they are missing some features at the moment.""They need to improve the alerting and dashboarding as these are the key features in DevOps.""The scalability can be improved."

"There are instances of imitation, like with processors. As customers, we aim to develop this area, particularly focusing on the networking facility and connectivity. The challenge lies in the connection between the DC and MDR, which is quite distant. The link between them needs to be reliable. When direct fiber isn't available, they resort to using dark fiber, which can lead to some limitations. This situation presents another layer of complexity, requiring approximately 11 feet of additional infrastructure. This is essential for ensuring that applications have minimal latency. In the event of any issues, an account is set up for cache memory to ensure that the system remains operational and can recover data from the cache as needed. Additionally, I have a secondary aspect to consider.""The application resource usage has increased due to using RUEI.""Currently, it monitors web applications well, but ORUEI doesn't monitor mobile applications yet. It would be nice if they also added the ability to monitor mobile apps.""It would be nice if the solution could be integrated with Outlook. If I'm signing any quotation, any proposal, or any of my communications, I should be able to update that Oracle application as well."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "New Relic is either free with low retention and minimal functionalities, or expensive with full options and retention."
  • "The monthly cost os $1000 per server per month, but it could be even more. We pay about $250 for the server, and then New Relic wants over $1000 to give us statistics on those servers."
  • "Cost is significant with a lot of extras."
  • "It would be nice if we could buy it annually instead of monthly."
  • "If it’s the right tool, it doesn’t matter what it costs because you’re going to get it back many-fold from your productivity."
  • "I recommend using the free version of New Relic. If you like the free version and understand its importance for your company, you can move to the trial. Then, you can migrate to the paid version."
  • "There is a picture which goes to your browser and it monitors requests from other users. However, it's impossible to use now because the price is very high. The feature is very nice, but I tried it during the trial period, and the current price makes it impossible to use."
  • "They gave us aggressive discounts when they were brought in for the first time, but they have also kept them for the year-on-year renewals, which has been absolutely fine."
